Looks like paradise to me!

nrhatch - January 23, 2012

I love palm trees framing blue skies. Simply irresistible. 😎

2. barb19 - January 23, 2012

Simple is the word Nancy – you got it perfectly!

nrhatch - January 23, 2012

Thoreau had the right idea ~ Simplicity. Simplicity. Simplicity.

“Nature is full of genius, full of the divinity; so that not a snowflake escapes its fashioning hand.”

3. Andra Watkins - January 23, 2012

These posts say summer. 🙂

nrhatch - January 23, 2012

That’s why I love being surrounded by swaying palms. Even when it’s “chilly” . . . I know that summer’s warmth is just around the next bend.

4. Cindy - January 23, 2012

My sentiments exactly 😉

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Mais oui! 😉

Very beautiful photo! The colors are sublime.

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

I love the juxtaposition of green and blue . . . turquoise and aqua abound here!

7. jannatwrites - January 24, 2012

Beautiful photo. I just love palm trees (as long as I don’t have to trim them :))

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

We live in a community with “people” to handle the landscaping issues . . . so we never have to trim the palms (except for the one over our deck if it gets in our way).

8. sufilight - January 24, 2012

Ooooh, it gives a sense of feeling refreshed. Very nice! 🙂

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Well put. That’s exactly how I feel, Marie. They make me feel calm and serene. Aah . . . that’s better. 😎

9. kateshrewsday - January 24, 2012

Gorgeous!

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Thanks, Kate! I thought about writing something to accompany the photo and decided it stood on its own. 😉

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Thanks, Jake! I love shooting photos of the palms from under their spreading fronds.

Simply beautiful Nancy!

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Thanks, Pix! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll see you in Venice sometime next week. Woo Hoo!

13. Gracie Sam - January 24, 2012

I love palm trees!! Reminds me of a nice tropical beach summer vacation I had years back! I don’t think I have seen any palm trees here in UK Midlands though..its eally cold and wet most of the time here.

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

I fell in love with palm trees the first time I visited St. Thomas (in the US Virgin Islands). Ever since, I’ve wanted to live where it’s warm . . . and sunny.

Three years ago, we moved here and LOVE IT! 😎

14. Victoria-writes - January 24, 2012

Wish I was there 🙂

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Wish you were here too. Set up a vacation account and save your pennies. It’s a great place for a mid-winter get-away. 😉

15. Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide - January 24, 2012

Pretty!

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Thanks, Greg! I agree. They make me smile when framed against the sky . . . day or night. I love watching the moon peeking out from behind the palm fronds on a starry night.

16. earlybird - January 24, 2012

Now: if I just imagine the heat, the sound of the sea, sand between my toes and condensation dripping down the outside of a large cool drink in my hand… mmmmmmmmmmmm

cheers, Nancy!

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Sounds like you are on your way to paradise, EB! Sea, sand, and sun . . . plus a refreshing cocktail.

Aah . . . that’s better! 😎

17. Ruth - January 24, 2012

aah yes… lovely simplicity here, Nancy

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Nothing like a big heaping helping of Mother Nature’s finest. 😀

18. jeanne - January 24, 2012

The majestic palm…one of my favorite trees!

nrhatch - January 24, 2012

Same here! I love that they have their own signature look . . . even though they come in 50 or so varietals.

19. eof737 - January 25, 2012

Love, love those palm fronds! 😉

nrhatch - January 25, 2012

Glad you enjoyed, E! I have one just outside my office window that makes me smile as I type. 😀

20. bluebee - January 25, 2012

Ah, yes, that is the life

nrhatch - January 26, 2012

Moving here was like coming “home.”

21. pix & kardz - January 26, 2012

this reminds me of some of my favourite vacations in places where i would be relaxing poolside or oceanside, and looking up and seeing palm trees above me. there is something that is simply delightful about such a view…..
thanks for sharing!

nrhatch - January 26, 2012

Thanks, Kris! That’s exactly it . . . they remind me to slow down and savor THIS moment, allowing the next moment to unfold in its own way and in its own time.

22. spilledinkguy - January 26, 2012

Beautiful, Nancy!
Sure wish I had a few of those to greet me outside!
🙂

nrhatch - January 26, 2012

In Maryland and NJ . . . shore front bars often buy trees at the beginning of the season to create the tropical ambiance during the summer months.

The palm trees die over the winter and the bars and restaurants buy more trees to plant each spring/summer.

It’s subliminal “advertising” at its best . . . “you need a tropical drink, mon!” 😎

23. misspinkles - January 27, 2012

paradise!!

nrhatch - January 27, 2012

Agreed! 😉

24. Arindam - January 30, 2012

Beautiful photograph.

nrhatch - January 30, 2012

Thanks, A!

25. Cmsmith - January 30, 2012

Beautiful. I hope to get back to the photo challenges soon. I miss them.

nrhatch - January 30, 2012

I haven’t done most of them for 2012 because the themes chosen didn’t “speak” to me. Simple, of course, did. 😉
