Yesterday, BFF and I went to Natural Healing Arts for our first chiropractic exam and adjustment to address long-standing neck pain and strain.
sNap!
After completing the intake questionnaire, the nurse practitioner hooked us up to a nerve stimulator for 15 minutes.
cRacKle!
Relaxed, we wandered down to meet with Dr. Z for a spinal adjustment.
p~O~p!
After the adjustment, Dr. Z encouraged us to ice the area over the weekend to reduce inflammation, drink our weight in water, and work on our posture.
After yesterday’s sNap * cRacKle * p~O~p, I feel cautiously optimistic.
This morning, the pain in my neck feels like muscles that have had a good work out . . . rather than muscles that are “down for the count.”
But . . . sitting at the computer for hours on end adds stress and strain to my neck and shoulders due to dreadful un-ergonomic posture (i.e., slouching) and inertia.
I need to move more.
Starting today, I am going to step away from the keyboard every few minutes to give my neck, back, and shoulders a break . . . at least until my neck says:
Aah . . . that’s better!
Do you have any chiropractic tales to share?
