Years ago, when dad still enjoyed woodworking in his workshop, he made me this Christmas tree.   I’ve decorated it different ways over the years.  This year, I hung a simple  Shepherd Santa from its top branches.

Last night, we watched a Christmas special on the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC ~ the largest family home (250 rooms) built in the United States.

The Christmas concert in the Winter Garden included this lively Renaissance tune, reminiscent of Jethro Tull’s Songs from the Wood:

Xmas-CatButterscotch Crunchies

12 oz. butterscotch morsels
2 cups (3 oz. can) chow mein noodles
1 cup salted peanuts

Melt butterscotch in a double boiler over hot (not boiling) water.  Remove from heat.

Stir in noodles and peanuts.  Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.  Let stand until set . . . approximately 20 minutes.  Enjoy!
