Surprise! December 21, 2012

Life is full of unexpected pleasures . . . and sweet surprises!
Make a wish and blow out the candle. Notice pink flamingoes whenever they cross your path. Go with the flow. Enjoy twists and turns. Celebrate the NOW.
It’s probably NOT “the end of the world.”
Aah . . . that’s better!

such a pretty cake! im a huge fan of cakes lol ^^ planning to post a compilation of it as well. truly, surprises aren’t complete w/o cake!!
BFF made that cake for me . . . it was a SWEET surprise!
Eh d’r ya go!… you can’t beat a pink flamingo -happy birthday and shtufffs.
As for the pink flamingo; I like to think share a little love share a little pink (and when I say it, it is said with this deep deep manly curmudgeon voice that I was given which sounds a bit odd but even Ogres have a soft side).
Thanks, Hudson! If you looking for something to do between NOW and the End of the World . . . check out Susanna Leonard Hill’s Pretty Much World Famous 2nd Annual Holiday Contest.
The finalists submitted fantastic entries . . . including one with Yeti, Big Foot, and Sasquatch.

End of the world! I’ll snap right to it, tomorrow or day after the end….no, I went there thank you, an am going back.
The entires are so FUN! It was hard to pick just ONE.
No but a great time to make a pivotal change.
Yup. Every day is the first day of the rest of your life . . . and the Winter Solstice is a great time for resolutions as the days grow longer and the night dissipates. 😎
That’s a fine looking cake, Nancy! And, coincidentally, I’m seeing quite a lot of flamingos lately. You’ve just made me notice them all the more! 😀
It’s amazing what we see . . . when we take the time to notice. 😀
So glad that your end of the world winter solstice 12/21 party is such a smashing success.
Thank you… it’s going rather well! 🙂
I’ve enjoyed wandering about the mansion . . . checking out the nooks and crannies. I got distracted in the library.
So many books, so little time.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Cake.
Whoever invented cake has our un-ending-of-the-world gratitude!
Pink flamingoes are fine. It is when I see pink elephants that I will start to worry!
Yes! If pink elephants appear on the horizon, I soon realize that my imagination is “off kilter” again. 😉
Or alcoholic intake! 🙂
That could do it too! 😯
BFF is showing his ‘artistic’ side with that cake – what a lovely surprise for you. Happy Birthday Nancy!
Thanks, Barb! BFF makes great birthday cakes for me . . . much better than the ones I make for him. This is actually an old photo, from about 18 months ago. It seemed perfect for the SURPRISE theme.
Happy Happy Birthday Nancy!
Thanks, Pix! This year I celebrated my birthday in NJ with my mom and brothers . . . no BFF. This was taken the year before.
From this point forward, I’m going to remain “21 plus.”
Just made a wish, truly, and pretended to blow out the candle! 😀 Your sweetie is a sweetheart.
I’ve been trying to blow out that cyber candle all day . . . no luck yet. And, yes, he is! 😀
Nice cake! The world was supposed to end today? Shoot, I missed it. I’ll hold off on laundry just in case something happens in the next hour and a half 🙂
That’s the spirit! Never do today what you can put off until . . . after the end of the world. 😀
A happy happy birthday and when BFF bakes it, nothing like it 😀
“Baked Better By BFF” . . . and for woodworking projects, it becomes “Built Better by BFF.” He’s a keeper. 😀
Love it. And here we all are, still.
Surprise! I wonder if all the doomsdayers are disappointed . . . and scrambling madly to complete their Christmas shopping. 😉
Great idea… Let’s all eat cake! 🙂

Thanks, E! Enjoy the merriment . . . fa la la la la la la la la la.
Only in Florida do you see pink flamingoes on cake! Cute!
Pink flamingoes are ubiquitous in advertising here . . . but we’ve only seen actual flamingoes at Sarasota Jungle Gardens. Go figure.
no surprise that the end of the world has not come 🙂
but any time is a perfect time for cake! 😀
And pie! 😀
