My Christmas Wish List November 29, 2018

Dear Santa:
I haven’t written to you in a number of years, but I think of you often and fondly.
I hope that you and Mrs. Claus are doing well and staying warm. If you want a warm weather Winter Break after the 25th of December, let me know. We have a spare bedroom and the red tide should be gone by then.
Anyway, I know you’re busy so let me get to the point of this missive. When you make out your list (and check it twice) to find out who’s been naughty or nice, I’d be ever so appreciative if you would include the following gifts for me:
1. A bottle of magic pills that will let me sleep for 8 straight hours . . . every night . . . with no side effects (other than a perpetually cheery disposition).
2. A personal chef who has mastered the art of Gluten Free Vegetarian cuisine (including delicious GF bagels, pizza, and bread) and who eschews cooking with fungi.
3. A magical scale that will let me weigh whatever I want to weigh . . . every day.
That’s not too much to ask, is it? 😀
Ho ~ Ho ~ Ho!
Merry Christmas!
nancy
P.S. I know you can’t give me a personal chef. But a few gift certificates to same would make great stocking stuffers!
Aah . . . that’s the ticket!

Can you add my name to number one, please? If I could sleep for five hours, that would be good, too!
Wrestling with sleep every night is exhausting. And when I do get a solid night’s sleep, I feel AMAZING!
If Santa doesn’t come through for us . . . see comment #6.
LOL! I have no trouble falling to sleep…it’s staying asleep. Last night I tried Valerian Root, it worked well. I slept from 9:15 until 3:00 which is good for me!
Yay! That’s a healthy stretch of sleep, Jill. I have not tried Valerian Root. Maybe I’ll give it a go.
Yes, that was a great stretch for me. It smells terrible, but it didn’t give me crazy dreams like Melatonin. 🙂
Good to know. Thanks, Jill!
I read that lavender helps so bought a bottle of lavender essential oil and put some drops on my pillow. Ahhhhh 😴
Glad it’s been a good sleep aid for you, Pam. Another natural remedy for me to try. Thanks!
And, as a plus, lavender smells better than Valerian Root (apparently). 😀
Please ask Santa where he gets those scales. I am in dire need…
My new mantra:
What goes UP must go DOWN. Right?
I used to think so… until menopause. Now it seems to be a one way street. Straight up.
😯
I don’t like this one way street. Let’s make a U-Turn . . . or take a detour!
I see, on the side, that a Santa suit doesn’t suit the seaside.
You have a preoccupation with slumber and gluttony . . .?
Way to go!
Eat, Sleep, and Be Merry!
A great post to make me smile first thing in the morning! 🙂 Thanks for the blog share!
If you get the personal chef please tell Santa to send their twin to me! 🙂
Will do! It’d be GREAT to have a personal chef who cooked healthy, nutritious, and delicious cuisine “to order” . . . especially if those meals caused the number on the scale to DROP!
The perfect gift indeed! 🙂
And simple, right? 😉
If Santa comes through for you I’ll be asking him for that scale. He could become a gazillionaire selling that thing.
My scale gave me some rather disappointing news this morning. I should banish it from the bathroom! 😛
I have done that. Ours lives in the basement where it cannot cause me daily distress. Its attitude is so negative.
A basement! That’s what’s missing here in Florida! 😆
Dear Nancy,
If you will leave some gluten-filled cookies for me, by the tree, I will leave you a bag of marijuana-brownies for your sleep, and I will adjust your bathroom scale to always read 10 pounds lighter than actual weight.
Sincerely,
Santa
Make them GF, high fiber, low calorie, low fat brownies and you got a deal! 😆
Ho-ho-ho!
You know, Santa, when you laugh . . . your belly looks like a bowl full of jelly.
Well said Nancy. I would be delighted if Santa could just send me the magic scales!
The first time I experimented with being GF, I felt I had a magic scale since I lost weight without even trying. But since I quit smoking, the pounds have returned. Bastards! 🙄
Yes, I know if I took up smoking again the kilos would fall away – not worth the risk though 🙂
Agreed!
No fungi? Really? This fall dietary instructions have changed. Salad is now hazardous to your health and brownies may help you sleep (depending on the ingredients wink wink).
Yup, not a fan of shrooms . . . except maybe the magic kind! Wink. Wink.
Note to self ~> swap out salad for brownies! 😆
I love the idea about the scale.Mine has been banished!
I’ve “unfriended” mine as of this morning.
That’s a great list! Please add me to at least two of those requests!
Santa will know exactly which two are for you!
I like the sound of this list. Make mine the same … although swap out the GF breads etc and make mine brownies 🙂
Mais oui!
Et un croissant pour le petite madame?
Avec beurre?
A great list, Nancy! I’m a medium-good sleeper and appreciate it even more after this past week’s short nights. I’m not made for 8 a.m. meetings any more 🙂
Me neither ~ I’m barely awake at 8 am.
How did we do it? 🙄
I have no idea!
A really good list, Nancy. I’ll take the personal chef in a heartbeat., although I am rather partial to the odd stuffed mushroom. Maybe I can bake those on his day off. 🙂
You’re not alone, Sylvia. There are a lot of fans of shrooms out there.
Having a personal chef “on call” would be great!
