Welcome, Welcome, Christmas Day! December 25, 2011

Every year, we watch the Grinch. Every year we smile as he puzzles and puzzles until his puzzler is sore.

It came without ribbons.
It came without tags.
It came without packages, boxes or bags.

The Grinch can’t understand it.  Under cover of darkness, he had managed to steal the presents, the trees, and the wreaths.  He had taken all the  food for the feast ~ from the last can of Who Hash to the rare Who Roast Beast.

But his nocturnal efforts hadn’t stopped Christmas from coming.  It came.

Somehow or other, it came just the same.

I heard the bells on Christmas Day.
Their old familiar carols play
And wild and sweet
The words repeat . . . of peace on Earth, good will to men.

Lovely! Holiday warmth of the best sort. 😀

15. colonialist - December 26, 2011

Christmas greetings!

Of course, old sourpuss Cromwell had a bit more success than The Grinch, for a while, but that didn’t last!

nrhatch - December 26, 2011

Maybe all the “Grinches” currently seated will turn over a new leaf for the New Year . . . or get “unseated.” 😉

16. Crowing Crone Joss - December 26, 2011

love the Grinch and Dr. Seuss – magical moments.

nrhatch - December 26, 2011

Always fun to watch at this time of year. 😀

17. 2e0mca - December 26, 2011

You’re lucky – every year we get to watch The Dam Busters! At least we used to but I think the UK is gradually coming out of the ration book era – now we get to see Dr Who specials 😉

nrhatch - December 26, 2011

Ha Ha! We have the Grinch on DVD so that we are no longer at the mercy of the Networks!

2e0mca - December 26, 2011

LoL – I have some great things on DVD – not sure if the lad is allowed to watch the though 😉

nrhatch - December 26, 2011

We waited years before being able to share some of our favorites (Caddyshack and Animal House) with our nieces and nephews.

It was worth the wait . . . they loved them!

20. bluebee - December 28, 2011

Maybe the zebra had something to do with it 😉 (those little tubby Santas are too cute)

nrhatch - December 28, 2011

Thanks, BB! Zebras often inspire heart-expanding giggles. 😆
