I don’t do much baking . . . not even Christmas Cookies.

But if I did:

Aah . . . that’s yummy!

Cookies are my specialty!

Kate Crimmins - December 3, 2018

Do you need my address? 🙂

Jill Weatherholt - December 3, 2018

If you’re nice! 🙂

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

Pick me! Pick me!

Kate Crimmins - December 3, 2018

I asked first!

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

You did . . . but maybe Jill will make a DOUBLE batch! 😆

Jill Weatherholt - December 3, 2018

I might need to set up a Go Fund Me account!

nrhatch - December 4, 2018

That’s the idea ~> instead of Mrs. Fields, we’ll all reach for Ms. Weatherholt’s Cookies!

Kate Crimmins - December 4, 2018

I’m in!

2. rivergirl1211 - December 3, 2018

National Cookie Day is a holiday I can totally get behind. And in front of!

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

Me too! Celebrate!

3. joyroses13 - December 3, 2018

Very Yum! Taste buds are waking up at this announcement. Perhaps I should have cookies tomorrow and then birthday cake the next day. It will be a sweet week indeed! 🙂

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

Ooh . . . Happy (almost) Birthday!

joyroses13 - December 3, 2018

Thank you! The week is off to a great start. Just got back from an early birthday lunch with a friend. 🙂

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

Excellent! Celebrate early . . . and often!

4. L. Marie - December 3, 2018

I didn’t know there was such a thing! I love cookies. Perhaps I should forward this post to all of the cookie bakers I know. 😀 😁

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

That’s the ticket! At Bridge on Thursday night, Joan M. brought delicious Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. I ate two! 😀

5. Joanne Sisco - December 3, 2018

I never bake cookies either – but just the word is enough to make me smile 🙂 🍪 🙂

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

Agreed. I’m not a big sweet eater with cakes and pies . . . but a good cookie = GOOD!

Joanne Sisco - December 3, 2018

I WISH I wasn’t a big sweets eater. Sadly, it is my weakness.

nrhatch - December 4, 2018

I tend to reach for salty crunchy treats . . . and chocolate. 😆

6. Kate Crimmins - December 3, 2018

Every year I say I’m not baking (there are 2 of us and my husband doesn’t have a sweet tooth). Then the carols start playing and everything is festive. I should find a great bakery and buy a half dozen. That would do me!

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

I might have to bake a batch of Scottish Shortbread in honor of Cookie Day!

Kate Crimmins - December 3, 2018

Shortbread is one thing I don’t make and my husband likes. Go figure!

nrhatch - December 3, 2018

I have never made shortbread because my great aunt, my grandmother, my mother, and my sister always made it for me!

So this will be my first attempt. But I think I’m gonna do it!

Jill Weatherholt - December 3, 2018

Go for it…and share pictures!

nrhatch - December 4, 2018

Way to add to the pressure, Jill! 😛

nrhatch - December 5, 2018

I did bake a batch of Shortbread . . . but I forgot to take photos. The cookies are good with “room for improvement.”

* I should have cooked them a bit longer, or at a slightly higher temperature. They seem a bit “gummy” instead of crisp.

* I used unsalted butter and didn’t add any salt. I think next time I would use salted butter OR add a bit of salt.

But BFF is enjoying them. A lot. 😀

7. Ally Bean - December 4, 2018

I used to bake 10-12 different kinds of cookies at Christmastime. I felt that I had to, so I did. Now? I make one batch a year, maybe. We get older, we get wiser &/or lazier!

nrhatch - December 4, 2018

We used to spend an entire day baking dozens and dozens of Christmas Cookies . . . until I read Simplify Your Life by Elaine St. James. Best Book Purchase Ever!

Now, we make “place and bake” cookies on occasion. No mixing required. 😉

But, today, in honor of National Cookie Day, I am going to make a batch of Scottish Shortbread. The butter is on the counter!

Ally Bean - December 4, 2018

You go girl! Bake ’em if you got ’em. 😉

nrhatch - December 4, 2018

Jill wants me to share photos ~> so . . . I’ll be able to document any disasters! 😛

8. Tippy Gnu - December 5, 2018

I ate a cookie on Dec 4. Does this mean I’m patriotic?

nrhatch - December 5, 2018

Perhaps. That’s why I chose to bake SCOTTISH Shortbread. 😀

9. Laurie - December 9, 2018

Uh oh! I missed National Cookie Day. Maybe I could make some for the 14th instead of the 4th. I like to have some around for Christmas Day.

nrhatch - December 9, 2018

Worry not!
Just schedule a Personal Cookie Day as a “make up.” 😀
