On BFF’s Birthday, we went to University Town Center for lunch at Seasons 52.

2014-10-23 13-15-05_0001

We ordered Warm Olives with Rosemary & Garlic, Flatbread Pizza, and the Hummus Duo.

2014-10-23 13-18-59_0010

The Margherita pizza was crisp, chewy, and cheesy with lots of fresh basil and tomatoes.

When the food arrived, I couldn’t take my eyes off it.

2014-10-23 13-15-50_0006

We ended lunch with a trio of Mini Indulgences, the signature dessert at Season’s 52.

Make mine Mocha Macchiato!

2014-10-23 13-48-39_0011

BFF ordered two Birthday Desserts ~> Carrot Cake and Chocolate S’Mores.  Yes.  I tasted them both . . . for quality control purposes only!

2014-10-23 13-48-46_0012

Before we walked around the new mall to burn off the excess calories, BFF gave the meal a Thumbs Up!

2014-10-23 13-15-30_0004a

Aah . . . that’s better!

One word. MMMMM…oh, guess that isn’t a word, but you get the sentiment!

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

I do get the sentiment, Suzi. Season’s 52 is one of our favorites ~ we’ve been to the one in Orlando several times when visiting my sister. This one just opened at the new mall ~ much closer!

2. Kate @ Did That Just Happen? - October 30, 2014

Oh my gosh but that looks good!! Wow!

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

Season’s 52 is a wonderful restaurant ~ its menu changes with the seasons. But mini indulgences are always on the menu. There’s usually 10-12 from which to choose.

3. Jill Weatherholt - October 30, 2014

Happy Birthday to BFF! Oh my, you had me at “cheesy”…I’ve never met a cheese I didn’t like. The pizza looks delicious and that Mocha Macchiato…pure decadence!

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

I tended to end my meals there with the Pecan Pie mini indulgence until the visit when I heard “Mocha Macchiato.” It is FAB!

And we’re with you on pizza ~ one of our favorite things.

4. Val Boyko - October 30, 2014

Great choices!! Happy birthday to BFF 🙂

He had a fun birthday celebration that spanned most of the week ~ and he’s still got “sweet treats” in the house to enjoy.

5. Grannymar - October 30, 2014

Sounds wonderful, but alas I would have to skip most of it. 😦

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

They do have a few dairy free mini indulgences on the menu that might entice you.

6. katecrimmins - October 30, 2014

Looks scrumptious! Now I’m hungry. Happy birthday BFF!

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

Thanks, Kate! I had fun tagging along to BFF’s birthday celebrations last week ~ here’s to indulging in fun every day!

7. Three Well Beings - October 30, 2014

What a nice way to celebrate! Happy Birthday to BFF! And isn’t it nice when our “other” has a celebration and we get in on the goodies. 🙂 My kind of meal from beginning to end, I can assure you!

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

Yes! It’s great when we get in on the goodies!

If you’re interested, Seasons 52 (which started in Orlando, FL) has made it to the West Coast ~ Los Angeles/ Century City, San Diego, Santa Monica, Sacramento, Costa Mesa.

“Seasons 52 is a celebration of what’s good now. Seasonally inspired ingredients at their peak of freshness. Rustic cooking techniques that bring out natural flavors and are inherently lighter—with nothing on the menu more than 475 calories. And an ever-changing selection of global wines. All in a casually sophisticated setting. Come discover what’s good now.”

What a nice way to spend a birthday! I would have felt obliged to do the quality control thing too – can’t have the birthday boy tasting something not quite right!

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

Exactly my thinking, Pauline ~ quality control is so important.

9. Barb - October 30, 2014

Happy Belated birthday to BFF; seems like the celebrations are still continuing – and what a way to do it at Seasons 52. The food looks scrumptious!

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

Thanks, Barb ~ the food was yummy. But, I confess, the olives made me T~H~I~R~S~T~Y!

(Come to think of it, that’s probably what they’re designed to do).

10. diannegray - October 30, 2014

Delicious! Happy Belated Birthday to BFF 😀

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

Thanks, Dianne. This is one of those posts where the photos speak for themselves.

11. ericjbaker - October 30, 2014

Happy birthday BFF. That carrot cake looks mighty tasty (as does the rest of the meal).

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

Thanks, Eric! He enjoyed his special day . . . especially when he realized he was a year YOUNGER than he thought!

ericjbaker - October 30, 2014

He’s reverse aging? What’s in the water down there?

nrhatch - October 30, 2014

It’s the Fountain of Youth!

12. jannatwrites - October 31, 2014

Looks like fun – and a nice b-day celebration. Love those mini desserts… enough to indulge, but not so much it adds to the bulge 🙂

nrhatch - October 31, 2014

My thinking exactly, Janna. Indulge without bulge! We don’t usually “save room for dessert,” so these were perfect.

13. livelytwist - October 31, 2014

When the food arrived, I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Me too! I’ve been staring at the photos and dreaming. Happy birthday to BFF and please keep doing your ‘quality control’ thing. 😉

nrhatch - October 31, 2014

Yes. It’s a VIP (very important practice). Glad you enjoyed the pics, Timi.

I’ve just been whipping up some Hallow E’en concoctions in my cauldron in the kitchen ~> tabbouli, black bean salsa, and curried quinoi with potatoes and spinach. Now I’m HUNGRY!

14. Behind the Story - October 31, 2014

Happy birthday to your BFF. Everything looks delicious.

nrhatch - November 1, 2014

Thanks, Nicki. He enjoyed himself.

The only thing I wouldn’t get again were the steak fries (not pictured). I can make better ones at home.

15. NancyTex - November 2, 2014

Happy Belated Birthday to BFF! The meal looked super yummy (especially the mini desserts!)

nrhatch - November 2, 2014

Thanks, NT! He enjoyed his special day/week. Those desserts are the perfect way to end a meal!

16. Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide - November 2, 2014

Sounds like a great light lunch.

nrhatch - November 2, 2014

We left Seasons 52 feeling a bit heavier than when we arrived. Good thing the indulgences were minis, not maxis!

Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide - November 2, 2014

It had hummus and olives. I count that as light!

nrhatch - November 2, 2014

Thanks, Greg! Now I don’t feel guilty about indulging in dessert!

Especially since I ended up taking 1/2 the olives home.
