How The Grinch Stole . . . My Blog! December 21, 2022

Well, to be honest, it’s not my blog that’s been stolen.  It’s right here.  It’s my blogging mojo that’s gone missing.

No, not “Moose Juice” . . . MoJo.

Nope, not Moo Juice . . . MoJo.

Nope, not Goose Juice either.  Although maybe a good night’s sleep (or a long winter’s nap) is what I need!

Moo-ving on . . .

In all fairness, I don’t know that the Grinch is responsible, but by pointing my finger at him (and his hairy green prone-to-thievery fingers), I’m hoping that my blogging mojo will be returned to me bright and early on Christmas morning.

Before the Feast.  (Ours will be sans roast beast!)

If not on Christmas, I expect my Moose Juice will be back on Boxing Day.

Tuesday at the latest.

In the meantime, a Jolly Holiday to all . . . including the~the~the~the~Grinch!

Aah . . . that’s better!

good luck with that. My mojo occasionally goes to the Bahamas without me to sun and take in the tiki bars.

Maybe mine has fled south too since it’s a bit on the chilly side here right now.

It may be in the 30’s when we wake up on Christmas Eve! And the high on Christmas Day will struggle to get out of the 40’s. Brrrr . . .

Nancy, I am absolutely sure your creative juices (moose juices?) will be flowing shortly, and your blogging mojo will return in due time. This will probably be a very moo-ving experience for you. Stay warm and relish in the thought you could be here…temperature Friday night supposed to be 9F with 20-30 mph winds. A jolly holiday for you and yours!

nrhatch - December 21, 2022

Well, Bruce, that just sounds AWFUL x 2! Cold AND Windy is a nasty combination in my book.

And just think of poor Santa and his 8 tiny reindeer trying to keep warm as they make the rounds! I better leave Santa HOT Chocolate (instead of milk) with his cookies. And for the reindeer, perhaps some nice WARM roasted carrots . . . or a parsnip souffle.

Have a jolly holiday starting today . . . as the days grow longer and the nights diminish in margin.

I have the opposite problem. Too many ridiculous bits of nonsense rattling around in my head waiting to escape…

nrhatch - December 21, 2022

I have had ideas appear on the horizon exclaiming with exuberance: “Pick Me! Pick Me!” But instead of sitting down to write, I punt them to the side and go pick up a book. Or work on a crossword puzzle. Or get a snack. Or go for a walk. Or deck the halls with boughs of holiday. Or make latkes for Hanukkah (which we don’t even celebrate). Or, you know, anything but sitting down to write.

I have been enjoying your travails and travels!

Rivergirl - December 21, 2022

Whenever I have a picture or story or ridiculous piece of fluff I want to share? I schedule the blog, insert the media, then go back and write it at my leisure. On any given day I have two weeks worth of posts ready to go.
😉

nrhatch - December 21, 2022

I used to do that. Now? Not so much. 😀

Nancy, be good to yourself. You’re one of the most creative bloggers out there. Everybody runs out of steam sometimes. Have a wonderful Christmas. Happy New Year!

nrhatch - December 21, 2022

Thanks, LM. I do enjoy reading and commenting on other blogs, yours included. Sometimes my comment sparks an idea . . . but then I “run out of steam” and do anything but write.

Call me a pro-procrastinator! Merry Christmas!

L. Marie - December 21, 2022

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

If it’s just a temporary glitch in your mojo’s system, I’m sure there’s nothing at all to worry about… At least your mojo hasn’t retired for life (as mine seems to have done years ago). Me thinks it’s been replaced by Netflix and Amazon Prime mooooovies.

nrhatch - December 22, 2022

Haha. You and me both, Jo.

If I switched my movie viewing time (2 hours most nights of the week) for writing time, I would be able to write a daily blog post (or three) with one hand . . . while the other hand busied itself with popcorn. 😀

JOriginal Muse - December 22, 2022

🤣 I’m thinking long and hard now about making a New Year resolution to replace what would be my exercise time with writing… Ain’t no way I’m giving up binge-watching the shows I love.

If God, all his buddies and the Universe didn’t intend for us to have that mental and emotional pleasure, they wouldn’t have given the gift of writing and creating to all of those creators to begin with. Ahhhh… now THAT’S better…! 🤔😄😂

nrhatch - December 22, 2022

That’s a plan!

6. Behind the Story - December 22, 2022

A jolly holiday to you, Nancy.

We all need a little rest from our mojo. I’ll be looking for you again when you’re ready. I have other things on my mind with kids and grandkids visiting for the next 10 days.

Was that a juice bar with all those cute signs?

nrhatch - December 22, 2022

Those photos were taken outside a snack bar in Seuss Landing at Universal Studios in Orlando . . .

Have a wonderful time with kids and grandkids. We’ll be celebrating with my sister’s family, including 20 mos. old Landon. Fun Stuff!

7. Mark Petruska - December 22, 2022

This is the first year in forever that we aren’t having roast beast for our Christmas beast. Not because I can’t stand it in the least (I love it), but more a byproduct of poor planning. A Christmas ham it is, then!

Hope you have a festive holiday and find your mojo again in the new year.

nrhatch - December 22, 2022

Thanks, Mark! Hope your holidays are festive AND delicious!
