The Funky Pelican in Flagler Beach March 29, 2022

We stopped for an early dinner at the Funky Pelican in Flagler Beach.
We enjoyed the view from our table despite the persistent rainfall.
After eating, we admired the pier from another vantage point.
Listening to the roar of the surf is . . .
Just BEACHY!
We drove home through Ocala National Forest and made a quick pit-stop at Barberville’s Yard Art Emporium.
The Yard Art Emporium had a bit of everything you might need in the way of Yard Art.
From Big Boy to Big Roosters.
From Alien visitors to stunning statuary.
Including a Friendly Frog!
And just a few short hours and many miles later . . .
Aah . . . HOME at last!
OMG, that alien! I could see him on our barn porch welcoming visitors….
🤣
I thought for sure you’d go for the huge chicken/rooster! But the alien would be great on your porch OR behind the bar!
To be honest, the giant chickens have been overdone. You see a lot of them up here so the bloom is off the rose…. but the alien. I’d be the only one on our block with him for sure.
🤣
Just imagine how you could dress him up for holidays!
It may be grey and rainy, but somehow works with piers and waves.
Love the fun “discoveries” along the way (Also voting for the alien)
The place was amazing in the depth, breadth, and scope of its proffered lawn art. The alien is a eye-stopper for sure!
They look much better than the Christmas blow ups that are so popular on lawns around here.
The blow ups are the worst . . . especially when they lie around flaccid and bereft of air.
Which is most of the time!
Yup!
I have to know. Did you buy anything???
Nope. But if I was going to purchase anything, it would have been the frog holding on to its head so it wouldn’t explode. 😀
“Caution Blonde Thinking” Well isn’t that more than a little bit insulting? Love the beach, not so sure about the license plate sign.
I am a blonde who gets a kick out of blonde jokes. Why? Because I like to surprise people who underestimate blondes. 😀
I used to be blonde but now I’m more to the “let grayer heads prevail” stage of life. 😉
Wise thinking!
Now this post is just Beachy Nancy 😍
Beachy = Peachy!
I’ve seen that burger dude someplace else. Trying to recall where.
That’s Bob’s Big Boy!

Oh okay!! Thank you for clearing that up!
Oh wow, Bob’s Big Boy!! Loved that restaurant as a kid. 🙂
I’m not sure we ever ate at one . . . my parents tended to dine out alone without 4 extra mouths to feed. And if we went out as a family, fast food was not usually on the menu. But I always thought that Big Boy was a great “mascot.”
We only went when on vacation and he was a great smiling mascot.
I don’t think Big Boy was very Big in NJ . . . or we would have “encouraged” my parents to take us there once or twice.
Our “go-to” on vacation was Howard Johnson’s!
Could you drop me an email @ lwashin301(at)comcast(dot_(net)? I thought I had your email, but it turns out I don’t.
Thanks for another great give-away! You rock!
What a wonderful trip you enjoyed, Nancy. But it always feels good to get home, doesn’t it? I didn’t know that Bob’s Big Boy was national. That was a “hang out” for teens when I was one. 🙂
Yes! For me, the best part of ANY trip is walking in my front door at its conclusion.
I don’t remember any Bob’s Big Boy near us, but we bumped into him on trips from time to time. He’s so iconic!
