Just a quick heads up that World Kindness Day is right around the corner . . . on November 13th to be exact.
And it’s a Saturday.
But, of course, we should be kind to each other every day.
Why? Because Kindness echoes!
World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world.
The purpose of this day celebrated on November 13 of each year is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together.
This understanding has the power to bridge the gap between nations.
Aah . . . that’s better!
Thank you for the reminder of the day but you are right, we should all be kind every day. xx
When asked about kindness and compassion, the Dalai Lama assured the audience that they should be kind and compassionate because it will make THEM feel better. So true.
Why practice loving kindness and compassion?
* To gain brownie points with acquaintances?
* To earn a seat in heaven?
* To please God?
* To honor Buddha?
* To create good karma for this (or the next) life?
It’s even simpler than that . . .
Being kind makes us happy. Right here. Right now.
To see the video of his presentation:
Love this. Being kind just feels good.
The Dalai Lama’s presentation on kindness and compassion makes me smile.
‘Tis kind of you to share this post about kindness thereby demonstrating a kindness in doing so.
How terribly kind of you to say so! 😀
They need to teach kindness in school. No one seems to be familiar with the concept these days.
Kids are inherently kind . . . until they go to school and meet the “mean girls.” It’s all downhill after that!
Love this! It cost nothing to be kind.
I agree, Sarah. And I ALWAYS feel happier when I am kind to others . . . and less happy when I am not as kind as I could be.
Great reminder! If only it happened every day.
To being kind, wherever and whenever! But, honestly, LM . . . you ALWAYS seem kind to me!
A kind word is such a wonderful boost on an ordinary day! I could name off at least six kind exchanges I’ve had today with different people. So much to be happy about and grateful for on this rainy day.
That’s wonderful to hear, Nicki. I feel the same about my daily encounters . . . most days, anyway.
If we are kind to others, we get repaid in kind. 😀
Kindness is so essential, Nancy. I’ve experienced so much of it during my recovery. 😘
Yay! I’m glad that you’re on the mend with kindness for company!
🤗
Thank you Nancy 💕
Namaste.
I’ve been out of town, but so glad I didn’t miss it! An excellent focus for one day, when it seems we may be in shirt supply. We need to do what we can do!💓
Now that we have Meatless Mondays and Taco Tuesdays . . . maybe we should have Friendly Fridays!
Great idea!
