Moi? Lazy? Mais Non! September 24, 2021

I have it on GOOD authority that I am not lazy . . .
And neither are you!
In fact, according to social psychologist and author Devon Price, laziness does NOT exist. In further point of fact, that’s the name of his book ~> Laziness Does Not Exist.
According to Devon Price, Ph.D.:
“Laziness is usually a warning sign from our bodies and our minds that something is not working and we really need a break,” says Price. “The human body is so incredible at signaling when it needs something. But we have all learned to ignore those signals as much as possible because they’re a threat to our productivity and our focus at work.”
The “laziness lie,” says Price, tells us that there’s always something more we could and should be doing — be it at home, at work or in our relationships — and that our worth is based on our productivity. It’s time to unlearn that. Instead of seeing laziness as a deficit or something that needs to be fixed, we should listen to the call that it’s time for a change.”

But what’s the hurry?
Take a nap first.
You know you want to!
Aah . . . that’s better!

Time for a nap!
That’s the ticket!
I could use a nap!
Moi aussi! Je suis fatigue!
It would have been very helpful if I’d been given this perspective earlier in my life, but it’s never too late! It sure works for me! 🙂
When I got to the pool this morning, a neighbor was floating around the pool in a chair while reading a book.
She said, “I’m feeling lazy today.”
I assured her that that was impossible. 😛
Yes! 🙂
I love reading this. Thanks for passing it on. Usually when I feel that I’m being lazy, I’m just bored with what I think I should be doing and should change activities or I’m tired and I should rest. What a nice reminder!
Thanks, Nicki. We are encouraged from an early age to be productive. “Idleness is the devil’s workshop” and other Puritanical sayings encourage us to be Busy Bees.
Sometimes we just need to BE.
Enjoy the day! 😀
