Mistakes do not define you.
Falling down is an accident. Staying down is a choice.

Forget the mistakes. Remember the lessons.

Better an “oops” than a “what if?”
Aah . . . that’s better!
I had a boss once who told me that if he didn’t need to reel me in once in a while, I wasn’t being aggressive enough. That’s all I needed to hear. An occasional “oops” but no “what ifs.”
Sounds like you found the right balance, Kate! Just stay steady on that ladder while you’re painting!
Just found out the kitchen ceiling which I also planned to paint is another foot higher. Debating or should I say recalibrating…
Recalibrating makes sense!
Why do I see USMC on that fallen creature’s leg…?
Broom-Hilda is an American newspaper comic strip created by cartoonist Russell Myers. … in the United States Marine Corps for two days and then discharged for unnecessary roughness (glimpses of her underpants reveal a USMC label).
Ha!
Glad you asked. I learned something new!
I try not to fall off a cliff, but when I’m trying hard at something I often fall. Fortunately so far I’ve been able to get back up each time. Great reminder here!
Fear of falling (or failing) at something holds people back from activities and events they might enjoy. When I decided to learn to play Bridge a few years back, I assumed that I would be making PLENTY of mistakes . . . but I didn’t let them bother me. I just kept at it until I became a decent Bridge player. Each mistake helped to solidify what I needed to know re strategy, opponents, etc. It all helped. But I avoid cliffs! LOL!
Amazing timing! I really needed this post, Nancy!
Go you!!!
Ii do agree! And I sure don’t want to be stuck in my mistakes. But I’d also love to have some of the memories completely erased. Some of the doozies can still make me wince. I’m sure I’m the only one remembering them, however, and that’s a gift. 🙂
You could try rewriting the doozies . . . to make them more palatable to you. Our memories are so fallible, we might as well tell tales that we want to hear. 😀
Not at all a bad idea! 🙂
It’s the writer in me . . . I often rewrite endings to movies and books to make them more to my taste. 😀
😍Better an oops than a what if 😍
As kids, we knew this instinctively ~> go for the gusto!
Great point, Nancy. Not making mistakes often means not living life 😀
To living life!
I like that! It reminds me of “Don’t ask for permission. Just apologise if necessary.” 🙂
Good strategy, Sally!
