CONVICT TRUMP! February 11, 2021

Posted by nrhatch in Life Balance, Mindfulness.

Dear Senator McConnell ~

You took an oath to uphold the Constitution.
So did Trump.

The House Impeachment Managers have established with certainty that Trump violated his oath repeatedly in connection with the events that transpired on 1/6/21 . . . as well as leading up to that date.

Do the right thing.

Uphold the Constitution.
Protect the Republic.
Abide by the solemn oath you took when sworn into office.

Ignore partisan politics.

And encourage EVERY Senator in Congress to do the same.

And ensure that he is NEVER eligible to hold office again.

Anything less is an abrogation of your responsibility to this Democracy.

A Real Patriot

Guilty. Beyond a reasonable doubt.

If you want to send Mitch McConnell an e-mail, here’s his address:

Maybe he can encourage a few senators to do the right thing.

Fingers crossed that we have a few courageous PATRIOTS in the republican ranks!

2. Kate Crimmins - February 11, 2021

I’m not optimistic on this and I can’t understand why this is so difficult for them. Follow the facts.

nrhatch - February 11, 2021

I agree, Kate. This should be a SLAM DUNK, but some of our representatives have become as adept as Trump at ignoring facts and reality.

Kate Crimmins - February 12, 2021

Or fear repercussions from their constituents. Personally I don’t get it. You either have ethics or you don’t.

nrhatch - February 12, 2021

I will tune in again today to listen to “the defense of the indefensible” . . . but I doubt his inept legal team will score many points as they bumble and stumble about trying to deflect us from the facts.

Let’s hope that Rivergirl is right and that this is the nail in the coffin for many members of the Republican party. If they are with Trump, they are not with US.

3. Rivergirl - February 12, 2021

Oh, they’re doing the right thing…. for themselves. The GOP is well and truly dead. They’ve handed the keys to the kingdom to the mob and now they’re terrified of being ousted.

nrhatch - February 12, 2021

One of the jackdaws said Trump didn’t incite the riot because he asked the violent unruly mob to “peacefully” protest.

He did say “peacefully” once. Guess once was not enough.

The most telling evidence of his intent to incite the insurrection comes after the assault on the capital and its officers. His silence in response to pleas for assistance speaks volumes.

He sent the mob there. He meant for them to scale the walls and storm the Capital. He wanted to dismember Congress, disrupt OUR democracy, and set up a dictatorship for himself.

And anyone who doesn’t vote to CONVICT TRUMP is an accessory after the fact who should be ousted from office at the first opportunity.

Rivergirl - February 12, 2021

I agree wholeheartedly.

4. Ally Bean - February 12, 2021

I agree with you, but I’ll admit that I’m fascinated as I watch these GOP Senators behave unethically and immorally and unpatriotically. For once their cowardice is on display instead of sneaking around behind the scenes. That part of it gives me hope, although I imagine 45 will not suffer any consequences for his actions. Sadly.

nrhatch - February 12, 2021

Let’s just hope that these COWARDS are getting it from all sides ~ the evidence at the impeachment hearing must have outraged their spouses, kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, constituents, pastors, ministers, teachers, fan base, staff, etc.

If they don’t care about us, maybe someone with some influence will convince them to CONVICT TRUMP!

6. L. Marie - February 16, 2021

Sigh. I am reading this after the fact. A sad day.

nrhatch - February 16, 2021

Expected outcome, but I’m still disappointed. At least Mitch McConnell went on record about how deplorable Donald’s actions were that day ~> but I wish Donald didn’t get acquitted at all.
