Oh Schadenfreude . . .

Oh Schadenfreude . . .

How lovely are thy branches

Oh Schadenfreude . . .

Oh Schadenfreude . . .

How do you entrance us

You make us laugh

Each time he frowns

We’re thrilled that he

Won’t be around

Oh Schadenfreude . . .

Oh Schadenfreude . . .

Our wish came true for Christmas.

Merriam-Webster dictionary sees huge spike in 'schadenfreude' search

Aah . . . that’s better!

Love it!!! I’m launching into the Sound of Music Farewell song!!

nrhatch - November 7, 2020

“Oh Tannenbaum” has a lovely lyrical quality . . . and it pairs so well with Donald’s Departure! πŸ˜†

And “So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good bye” is also smile worthy!

Val Boyko - November 7, 2020

Agreed!! I am so relieved I won’t have to see, listen to or read about him. The next few weeks will be telling though!

nrhatch - November 7, 2020

Now we finally have something to CELEBRATE this holiday season.

2. Rivergirl - November 7, 2020

Most excellent. My new favorite carol!

nrhatch - November 7, 2020

I had so much fun writing this this morning . . . I was singing it and giggling and smiling and laughing.

And that was BEFORE they officially called the election. Once they did, I was singing, giggling, smiling, and laughing all over again! Woo Hoo!

Wish we could gather around the good stuff together this HH!

Rivergirl - November 7, 2020

We were driving in the car when our niece texted me. Said she was in the grocery store when it was announced and saw a woman drop to the floor in relief.. then everyone cheered.
😊

It truly is a Dream Come True!

3. Ally Bean - November 7, 2020

A lovely update to an old classic. Now let the celebrating begin!

nrhatch - November 7, 2020

Celebrate Good Times . . . C’mon! πŸ˜€

4. Kate Crimmins - November 7, 2020

I didn’t think my body would make it through the stress. I have never been this vested in an election before. I was so happy I started to cry! I’m not a crier. Good times. Let’s hope there isn’t too much crap between now and Jan. 21 although I am positive he will pardon all his friends.

When I saw the headline calling the election in Biden’s favor, I did a Happy Dance!

And then I turned on FOX News to see how they would try to spin things in Donald’s favor. πŸ˜›

Kate Crimmins - November 7, 2020

I’m sure some of their far right pundits will come up with something.

nrhatch - November 7, 2020

They’re promising that Trump will run again in 2024.

Behind the Story - November 8, 2020

I tried different stations at one point. They were all showing Biden fans dancing in the street–even FOX. There was nothing left for Donald to watch. He needs to be the center of attention. He’s beginning to seem inconsequential.

nrhatch - November 8, 2020

I am sure that this is difficult for him.

And the Schadenfreude in me says, “Good. These past 4 years have been difficult for us.” πŸ˜›

5. mybeautfulthings - November 7, 2020

So pleased! Cracked open the Prosecco and toasted the win with Atlanta family. Love to you! xx

nrhatch - November 7, 2020

CHEERS!!!

6. Debra - November 7, 2020

Brilliant, Nancy! I sang right along with you. I’m definitely breathing lighter. 😊

nrhatch - November 7, 2020

Yay! Glad you enjoyed. I felt a bit “naughty” as I revised the lyrics to suit the situation . . . but not too naughty. πŸ˜†

7. anotherday2paradise - November 8, 2020

Love the song, Nancy. I slept much better last night. πŸ˜ƒ

nrhatch - November 8, 2020

Me too! Like a baby!

As they say, “Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish.” πŸ˜›

8. L. Marie - November 8, 2020

Oh man! Now I’m going to have that going through my head!!! πŸ˜ƒ

nrhatch - November 8, 2020

That why I ended up posting this post. I started playing around with the lyrics and they STUCK with me.

9. L. Marie - November 8, 2020

It is quite the ear worm. πŸ˜ƒ

nrhatch - November 8, 2020

When you get tired of it, you can switch to:

“Oh, bring us some figgy pudding.” πŸ˜›

10. Erica/Erika - November 13, 2020

Nancy, I am familiar with Schadenfreude since German was my first language. Sometimes this is the only translation that fits.😊

nrhatch - November 13, 2020

At first I felt “guilty” about the “positive glee” I felt over Trump losing the election . . . and now I don’t.

He is being such a colossal ass about refusing to concede to Biden. What a sore loser. He’s worse than a tiny tot throwing a tantrum when things don’t go his/her way.
