Oh Schadenfreude! November 7, 2020

Oh Schadenfreude . . .
Oh Schadenfreude . . .
How lovely are thy branches
Oh Schadenfreude . . .
Oh Schadenfreude . . .
How do you entrance us
You make us laugh
Each time he frowns
We’re thrilled that he
Won’t be around
Oh Schadenfreude . . .
Oh Schadenfreude . . .
Our wish came true for Christmas.
Aah . . . that’s better!
Love it!!! Iβm launching into the Sound of Music Farewell song!!
“Oh Tannenbaum” has a lovely lyrical quality . . . and it pairs so well with Donald’s Departure! π
And “So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good bye” is also smile worthy!
Agreed!! I am so relieved I wonβt have to see, listen to or read about him. The next few weeks will be telling though!
Now we finally have something to CELEBRATE this holiday season.
Most excellent. My new favorite carol!
I had so much fun writing this this morning . . . I was singing it and giggling and smiling and laughing.
And that was BEFORE they officially called the election. Once they did, I was singing, giggling, smiling, and laughing all over again! Woo Hoo!
Wish we could gather around the good stuff together this HH!
We were driving in the car when our niece texted me. Said she was in the grocery store when it was announced and saw a woman drop to the floor in relief.. then everyone cheered.
π
It truly is a Dream Come True!
A lovely update to an old classic. Now let the celebrating begin!
Celebrate Good Times . . . C’mon! π
I didn’t think my body would make it through the stress. I have never been this vested in an election before. I was so happy I started to cry! I’m not a crier. Good times. Let’s hope there isn’t too much crap between now and Jan. 21 although I am positive he will pardon all his friends.
When I saw the headline calling the election in Biden’s favor, I did a Happy Dance!
And then I turned on FOX News to see how they would try to spin things in Donald’s favor. π
I’m sure some of their far right pundits will come up with something.
They’re promising that Trump will run again in 2024.
I tried different stations at one point. They were all showing Biden fans dancing in the street–even FOX. There was nothing left for Donald to watch. He needs to be the center of attention. He’s beginning to seem inconsequential.
I am sure that this is difficult for him.
And the Schadenfreude in me says, “Good. These past 4 years have been difficult for us.” π
So pleased! Cracked open the Prosecco and toasted the win with Atlanta family. Love to you! xx
CHEERS!!!
Brilliant, Nancy! I sang right along with you. I’m definitely breathing lighter. π
Yay! Glad you enjoyed. I felt a bit “naughty” as I revised the lyrics to suit the situation . . . but not too naughty. π
Love the song, Nancy. I slept much better last night. π
Me too! Like a baby!
As they say, “Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish.” π
Oh man! Now I’m going to have that going through my head!!! π
That why I ended up posting this post. I started playing around with the lyrics and they STUCK with me.
It is quite the ear worm. π
When you get tired of it, you can switch to:
“Oh, bring us some figgy pudding.” π
Nancy, I am familiar with Schadenfreude since German was my first language. Sometimes this is the only translation that fits.π
At first I felt “guilty” about the “positive glee” I felt over Trump losing the election . . . and now I don’t.
He is being such a colossal ass about refusing to concede to Biden. What a sore loser. He’s worse than a tiny tot throwing a tantrum when things don’t go his/her way.
