Godspeed RBG! September 20, 2020

Posted by nrhatch in Books & Movies, Gratitude, People.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg transformed the landscape of America, increasing gender equality and acting as a moral compass for her brethren on the Supreme Court.

She rocked!

If you want more insight, I recommend two recent films ~ RBG and On the Basis of Sex.

She stood for equal rights for all.

Aah . . . that’s better!

1. Rivergirl - September 20, 2020

I literally wailed when I heard the news. Not only for the loss, but for the worst possible timing.

nrhatch - September 20, 2020

We were watching Jeopardy! when the news broke. RBG would have hung on for another couple of months if she could. She was a BIG fighter in a SMALL package.

I’ll miss her wit and wisdom.

Rivergirl - September 20, 2020

She will be dearly missed.

nrhatch - September 20, 2020

Here’s hoping that her replacement doesn’t put the US in its final tail-spin.

2. Kate Crimmins - September 20, 2020

I already was having a bad day/weekend with health issues going on. When I heard she passed I wondered what else bad could happen this weekend. She will be missed and there is no suitable replacement. RIP Ruth!

An amazing woman, for sure.

Hope you are finding some things to smile about this weekend, Kate. Don’t let the dark clouds obscure the good. Maybe you need a silly kitty fix?

3. Jill Weatherholt - September 20, 2020

I find comfort knowing she and Antonin Scalia are together again and enjoying their mutual love of the opera. We can learn so much from the relationship. Despite their disagreements, they didn’t let it affect their close friendship.

nrhatch - September 20, 2020

Oh, that’s a great thought, Jill. I was picturing her reunited with Marty ~ what a team they made!

4. anotherday2paradise - September 20, 2020

She fought such a brave fight and leaves an enduring legacy. What an incredible woman! ❤️

nrhatch - September 20, 2020

She didn’t believe in taking a “sick day” no matter how sick she was . . . she had things to do and people to persuade!

anotherday2paradise - September 20, 2020

She was certainly a force to be reckoned with and will be sorely missed.

nrhatch - September 21, 2020

Let’s hope she’ll be an “eye in the sky” that looks out for us.

5. L. Marie - September 20, 2020

What a year this has been! 🥺 😢 So sad!!!!!

nrhatch - September 21, 2020

She put her time here to good use, benefitting us all.

6. Behind the Story - September 20, 2020

I’ve been watching films about her off and on all weekend. She’s such an amazing person and such a good example for us all. It’s hard to believe how different the world was for young women when I was getting married and having my children. And it’s strange to remember how I accepted it and took it for granted.

We’ve come a long way, baby! 😀
