In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, Baby! September 6, 2020

We got a wink from the Universe today . . .

This morning around ten, while we were swimming, BFF wanted to know if YouTube would have In A Gadda Da Vida available for a listen.

I assured him it would.

We went about our day.

As dinner approached, I found myself in the kitchen chopping potatoes, onions, cabbage, and peppers for Scalloped Potatoes.  BFF asked if I wanted some chopping music.

“Sure.”

He turned on the TV, clicked to the Music Channels, and selected Classic Rock.

I said, “Hey, maybe they’ll play In A Gadda Da Vida for you.”

BFF scoffed at the idea.  “They’ll never play it.  It’s too long.”

After getting the potatoes in the oven, I returned to my office to handle some paperwork.

Fifteen minutes later, BFF said, “You are NOT going to believe this . . . Classic Rock just started playing In A Gadda Da Vida!

I laughed at the synchronicity and mystery.

We have never heard it played before when we tuned in to Classic Rock.

So, why today?

Was it already in the works, causing the Universe to whisper in my ear what was coming down the pike?

Did I manifest the song by suggesting it might be played this afternoon (when we have NEVER heard it before on the Classic Rock channel)?

Did the Universe hear BFF’s inquiry this morning and “suggest” to the station that they play In A Gadda Da Vida this afternoon?

Who knows?

Aah . . . that’s better!

I love it when that happens 😊🌻

nrhatch - September 6, 2020

Yes! I love synchronicity, magick, and mystery . . . when the Universe gives us a little *wink* or a gentle *nudge.*

Here’s to Winks, Whispers, and Nudges!

Oh My Gosh, Nancy, When I saw your title I had an immediate flashback of my teen years. It was a popular and favourite song. The synchronicity and mystery always gives me goosebumps. I find it happens often, and I do not understand it. I just stop, breathe and pay attention to my immediate surroundings. Anything I have read on this, says we are going in the right direction in our life. Who knows? Thank you for the flashback and the ear worm.🙂

Listening to songs from my teen years makes me feel like a kid again . . . until I get up to dance. 😆

Glad this resonated with the teen in you!

3. anotherday2paradise - September 6, 2020

Don’t you just love a bit of serendipity to cheer your day? Classic Rock is definitely music to chop by. 😅

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

Music makes chopping (and other chores) FUN . . . instead of just another job to be done. Just ask Mary Poppins!

4. Behind the Story - September 7, 2020

It’s funny how we miss certain periods in music. My first daughter was born in 1968 when this came out. I must have been listening to something else in those days. I’ve never heard this.

Anyway, isn’t it fun when these coincidences happen?!

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

I heard it for the first time in the 70’s since I was still listening to kids songs in the late 60’s. But I bought the album. It went well with my Steppenwolf Gold album!

5. Alien Resort - September 7, 2020

There was such a variety of music in that era, but if you had to pick an iconic song, this would be somewhere near the top of the list.

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

The funny thing about BFF picking this song to ask about yesterday is that he has NEVER mentioned it to me before. And we’ve been constant companions for about 40 years!

It was EERIE . . . in all the best ways. 😯

Alien Resort - September 7, 2020

I guess it is so iconic that we all assume that everyone else is thinking about it.

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

It’s a song with staying power!

6. Jill Weatherholt - September 7, 2020

These chance occurrences always make me smile.

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

Me too! We got such a Happy Hour chuckle out of it!

7. sarsm - September 7, 2020

I don’t think I ever heard it played on the radio either. Maybe you should start saying numbers out loud and then playing the lottery…

sarsm - September 7, 2020

Wow!!!! I read it and am really impressed!!

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

The numbers came to me on Friday night. BFF bought the ticket for Saturday night. Sunday morning, he opened the paper to check the numbers . . . expecting to “disappoint” me.

Instead, I hear, “OMG! You won. Those numbers came out.”
Me: “I know. I knew they would.”
Him: “Damn. I wish I’d believed you . . . I would have bought a few more winning tickets!”
Me: “Better listen up next time.”

8. Kate Crimmins - September 7, 2020

The BFF has super powers!

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

He does! And if you could see the deck he rebuilt in March, you’d see why he’s my Super Hero!

Kate Crimmins - September 7, 2020

Pictures?

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

It’s been so HOT and WET since he finished that I haven’t taken any photos out there . . . but I’ll share the completed project one of these days.

9. Rivergirl - September 7, 2020

Some things are better left unquestioned.
Next time maybe you can hope for a lottery win.
😉

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

I did get a lottery win this way ~> see link at comment #7 if you’re interested. 😀

10. roughwighting - September 7, 2020

You and your BFF’s beautiful energy brought it to the airwaves, for sure. That song is so much of MUCH – love it. Now I’m singing it in my head all day long, which is easy because that’s about how long it is.. Haha. And you’re right, the stations usually don’t play the song because it’s so long – but it’s a classic.

nrhatch - September 7, 2020

Maybe we can manifest more mystery & magick today! 😀
Happy Labor Day!

11. Kellie - September 7, 2020

Ha ha what a great post!

nrhatch - September 16, 2020

Little winks, whispers, and nudges from behind the curtain = FUN!

12. L. Marie - September 8, 2020

So glad for you guys! I didn’t click on the video though. That song is such an earworm!

nrhatch - September 16, 2020

Ear worms are the worst . . . unless you REALLY love the song and want it to follow you around ALL day!

13. Ally Bean - September 16, 2020

OK, that’s trippy. The song and the circumstances that brought it to your ear. I rather like knowing this happened. Neato.

nrhatch - September 16, 2020

Love the wisp and whisper of mystery.

BTW: We’ve listened to that station a number of times since the 6th and haven’t heard In A Gadda Da Vida a 2nd time. 😉
