Aah . . . that’s the ticket!

My squirrels are not wearing masks. I must have a talk with them.

nrhatch - August 15, 2020

Yes! Maybe the cats can reinforce your mask message. 😀

Kate Crimmins - August 15, 2020

Not likely!

nrhatch - August 15, 2020

They probably would only maintain social distancing if the squirrel ran away. 😀

One of local colleges, Villanova started the move in process last week. Everything was set up, tested. Rules made. Tents outside for classes. It’s was a great plan… and then over 100 students decided to party under the tents. No social distancing and few masks. I’m waiting to hear if anyone tests positive!

I tried to imagine arriving on campus my Freshman year in the midst of a Pandemic . . . and found it impossible to fathom.

Drinking and partying and socializing . . . with masks?

The gatherings we enjoyed at W&M Hall, the frats, the Hoi Polloi, the Green Leafe, the Cheese Shoppe, the delis, wandering in CW, and just hanging out in the dorm . . . hard to connect at the same level while trying to maintain social distance.

So much of my college experience was the togetherness, the collegiality, the friendships . . . which often included throngs of people congregating together.

But, despite the risks, I understand why re-opening the campus is a priority. For the students and the college. Here’s hoping it’s a successful transition for W&M and Villanova.

Love, love, love that picture!

nrhatch - August 15, 2020

I thought of YOU when I saw it for the first time . . . YOU and your menagerie of wild beasts . . . and that squirrel who INSISTED on getting back into the eaves!

Rivergirl - August 15, 2020

She and her horrible brood are still here!

nrhatch - August 15, 2020

She sees the red carpet you roll out for the deer, groundhogs, wild turkeys, etc., and thinks, “Et moi, Brutus!”

4. Jill Weatherholt - August 15, 2020

I’m waiting for the neighborhood dogs to start masking up.

nrhatch - August 15, 2020

Dogs would probably cooperate. Kate’s cats . . . not so much! 😯

5. Behind the Story - August 16, 2020

How in the world did someone get that photo. It’s so cute.

nrhatch - August 16, 2020

My guess is CGI graphics . . . either that, or a VERY tame squirrel! Glad you enjoyed.

6. anotherday2paradise - August 16, 2020

Cute photo, Nancy. My Sammy squirrel is much too fast for me to catch him and administer the mask. 😀

nrhatch - August 16, 2020

What about Iggy? Any way to get him to cooperate? 😀

anotherday2paradise - August 17, 2020

🤣 You try first.

nrhatch - August 17, 2020

Haha! Not a chance.

7. L. Marie - August 18, 2020

Okay, that picture is the cutest thing!

nrhatch - August 18, 2020

Now we just need a bunny wearing a mask to pose with him.
