Here’s To The Roaring Twenties! December 27, 2019

The 1920’s brought in a decade of change, known as the Roaring Twenties:

The Roaring Twenties got their name from the exuberant, freewheeling popular culture that defines the decade. The most obvious examples of this are jazz bands and flappers.

It was the decade that bought dramatic social and political change, flare and freedom to women, and advances in science and technology.

Also known as the Jazz Age, the decade of the 1920s featured economic prosperity and carefree living for many. The 1920s was a decade of change that began with a roar and ended with a crash.

Maybe the 2020’s will be a reprise!

Let’s hope the decade doesn’t end with a *CRASH*

Happy New Year . . . and Decade!

Happy New Year and a dazzling decade to you! xx

nrhatch - December 27, 2019

Thanks! New Year’s are dazzling since they are shiny & new.

mybeautfulthings - December 27, 2019

Of course! 🙂

What I like about it is, it will be the first decade since the 90s that doesn’t sound strange when referring to it.

nrhatch - December 27, 2019

YES!!! I agree, TG. The “twenties” just rolls off my tongue.

3. Val Boyko - December 27, 2019

Happy New Decade Nancy, when it comes around 💕

nrhatch - December 28, 2019

She’ll be coming round the mountain . . . when she comes!

4. Alien Resort - December 27, 2019

Has it been a hundred years already? Seems like only yesterday (or maybe the day before).

nrhatch - December 28, 2019

And just think . . . the Hundred’s Year War lasted even longer!

5. Jill Weatherholt - December 27, 2019

Happy New Year, Nancy! I hope it’s filled with lots of cheese 🧀!😉

nrhatch - December 28, 2019

Thank you, Jill! Le Fromage ~> mais oui!

I like your thoughts here, Nancy. I can’t say that I even want to think about a decade of time, however. Adding ten years to where I am now is a little sobering. 🙂 But I’ll be ever-so-hopeful about this coming year.

nrhatch - December 28, 2019

I just added 10 years to my present age ~> NOT a pretty picture!

Here’s to a year of Glad Tidings!

Debra - December 29, 2019

All the more reason we really do need to stay focused on the “now” in our lives. Right? I don’t like thinking ahead too much. The other day my daughter reminded me that her oldest, now 12, will be going to college in 5years. I nearly choked! Let’s enjoy today!!

nrhatch - December 29, 2019

Carpe Diem!!!
Be Here Now.
Let the future unfold . . . slowly, please. 😉

Happy New Year!!!! 🎆🎆🎆

nrhatch - December 29, 2019

Here’s to all the right resolutions (and revolutions).

8. anotherday2paradise - December 29, 2019

Happy Roaring Twenties, Nancy. By the time this decade is over, I’ll be ten years older. Yikes! 😯

nrhatch - December 29, 2019

I hear ya, Sylvia. Time marches ever forward . . .

9. granny1947 - December 31, 2019

Have a great new year Nancy. Here’s hoping for the best.
