One of the most generous bloggers I follow bestowed us with a box:

And inside the box was a cooler:

With a warning:

Since we didn’t have gloves, we used a spoon to dig around in the dry ice:

To unearth a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Caramel Almond Brittle:

Thanks, L. Marie!

And, yes, we used slightly smaller spoons to shovel the B&J’s into our mouths.

Aah . . . that’s yummy!

What a lovely thing to do! Enjoy your very special ice-cream. 🙂 🙂

nrhatch - November 19, 2019

Thanks, Sally. We enjoyed trying a new-to-us flavor. Yummy!

That L. Marie…she’s a gem! Enjoy!

nrhatch - November 19, 2019

She is a gem!

3. Rivergirl - November 19, 2019

Someone sent you… ice cream? To Florida! I didn’t even know that was possible.

nrhatch - November 19, 2019

Fascinating to see how they packaged it. It arrived hard as a rock ~> No meltage!

4. Ally Bean - November 19, 2019

Enjoy! Glad you figured out a way around the no gloves situation. Agree that L. Marie is one of the kindest bloggers around.

The dry ice was so cold that I half expected the plastic spoon to crack, but I’m pleased to report it survived its arctic foray intact!

Yes! Kind, generous . . . and fun to follow.

Yay! Thank you for the shout out, Nancy! It’s so cool to see the packaging. And I wish I could say “pun intended,” but I had begun typing this comment before the realization of the pun kicked in. 😀 😁

Haha! That’s cool, L.Marie. 😀

It was a fun giveaway and fascinating to see how a business could ship ice cream to Florida (when temps were in the 80’s) without delivering “soft-serve.”

Thanks, again. You da best!

nrhatch - November 19, 2019

It’s FUN to be the recipient of yummy treats!

7. Debra - November 19, 2019

Now that’s a great friend! 🙂 Yum!

She is that!

omg – what a lovely surprise!!

… and how do I get on her ice cream delivery list? 😉

nrhatch - November 19, 2019

L.Marie has done an ice cream give-away in the past ~ last time was a few years ago. Such a fun & delicious package!

9. anotherday2paradise - November 19, 2019

You’re a lucky fish, Nancy. What a cool surprise. 😎

nrhatch - November 21, 2019

Yes! Although I prefer “lucky duck” ~> it’s too hard to eat B&J’s underwater!

anotherday2paradise - November 21, 2019

🤣

Looks good. Damn diet.

nrhatch - November 21, 2019

I feel your pain ~> still, it’s a good idea to rein in our enthusiasm for food from time to time . . . so we don’t have to deal with ever-expanding girth!

Tippy Gnu - November 21, 2019

Okay, mother.

nrhatch - November 21, 2019

Don’t you use that tone of voice with me, young man!

11. Kate Crimmins - November 20, 2019

When it’s food, you figure out a way! That was cool!

nrhatch - November 21, 2019

Interesting to see how they managed to keep ice cream cold enough to deliver to Florida . . .

Very cool of L.Marie!

12. Val Boyko - November 21, 2019

Now that’s one thoughtful gift!!

nrhatch - November 21, 2019

We thought so!
