Ya, Mon May 18, 2019

We’ve been watching musical “documentaries” lately ~ Bohemian Rhapsody, Joan Jett, Muscle Shoals, and Marley.  What they have in common is a desire to elevate the musicians to the highest possible pedestal.

We didn’t buy into the hype.

That said, there’s something to be said for Jammin’ on a Saturday morning.

And sometimes it pays to Stir it Up.

Other times we have to accept the “what is.”

Cos every little thing gonna be all right.

Especially if we have One Love.

Aah . . . that’s better!

1. Jill Weatherholt - May 18, 2019

Suddenly, I have the urge to run off to the Caribbean, Nancy. Happy Saturday!

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

Do a layover here on your way to Kingston, mon!

Jill Weatherholt - May 18, 2019

Sounds great to me, Nancy!

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

We be leavin’ da light on for ya, mon.

2. Val Boyko - May 18, 2019

Coming back to join in the groove later! Thanks Nancy 💃🏻

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

We’re jammin’ . . . we hope you like jammin’ too! 😆

3. L. Marie - May 18, 2019

I instantly feel mellow!
Are you going to see the Elton John biopic this summer, Nancy?

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

You Betcha! Rocketman will ROCK! It’s already in our Netflix queue, but we might even go to see it in a theatre.

Elton John’s music puts me in a happy place almost always.

L. Marie - May 19, 2019

I still love the Good-bye Yellow Brick Road double album.

nrhatch - May 19, 2019

Yes! Good tunes.

4. mybeautfulthings - May 18, 2019

I loved Bohemian Rhapsody and the Bob Marley was funky! 🙂

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

I saw Queen in Philly in the late 70’s. Bohemian Rhapsody brought back some “interesting” memories. 😛

I knew next to nothing about Bob Marley ~ he grew up in abject poverty with an absent father. But he played his cards well and left a legacy of reggae that is still loved around the globe.

5. Rivergirl - May 18, 2019

I love Marley! It’s hard not to smile while listening…

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

Ya, mon. And his music ties in nicely with that “thing” your aunt gave you with the engaging aroma. 😀

Rivergirl - May 18, 2019

Sadly, the thing and I parted ways many moons ago…..
😉

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

I hear ya, mon!

6. Kate Crimmins - May 18, 2019

I love Marley too. What’s not to like about that music?

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

It’s so chill.

7. Tippy Gnu - May 18, 2019

Yup, that was pretty good. Okay, now I’ll pass it back to you.

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

Ya, mon! No one is going to accuse you of bogarting anything!

8. colonialist - May 18, 2019

A Marley-vous selection, indeed!

nrhatch - May 18, 2019

Ooh . . . parlez-vous Marley-vous?

colonialist - May 19, 2019

Non; est mademoiselle from Armentieres. La hinky dinkie.

nrhatch - May 19, 2019

Exactement!

9. Behind the Story - May 19, 2019

Good music for a sunny day like today. His music has the ability to wake you up and relax you at the same time. (I have that album and keep the songs on my “up-beat” play list.

nrhatch - May 20, 2019

Yes! Reggae can be contemplative, but also invigorating ~ especially songs like Stir It Up and Jammin.’ Having an up-beat play list is a fine ting!

10. Ally Bean - May 20, 2019

When I think of Bob Marley, I think of weed, Mon. You smoke the wacky tobacky on the Saturday morning, Mon?

nrhatch - May 20, 2019

No, mon. Not in da morning . . .

In the documentary, Marley be lighting up some big doobies!

11. Debra - May 21, 2019

I just have to smile when I think of Bob Marley! I enjoy musical movies and documentaries, too! 🙂

nrhatch - May 21, 2019

My love of musicals goes back to Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Sound of Music, etc.

12. Tiny - May 21, 2019

I really like his jams and funnily, all these songs were in our repertoire when hubby and I were part of a local band in Uganda, ions ago 🙂

nrhatch - May 21, 2019

I would have enjoyed seeing you and your hubby perform!
