BFF and I attended a jazz concert (guitar, bass, percussion) this week.

In Sarasota.
At mid-day.

As the price was right (FREE!), the auditorium was packed, with no vacant seats.

While welcoming the multitude of guests to the venue, one of the musicians expressed his sincere appreciation that the crowd had “braved the weather” to attend the concert.

The weather we braved?

Why it was absolutely wicked ~> in the mid-50’s and only partly sunny!

Aah . . . that’s Florida Funny!

That’s a perfect spring day here!

nrhatch - January 19, 2019

Exactly! Not beach weather, but not bad.

Kate Crimmins - January 19, 2019

I’ll take it!

2. Tippy Gnu - January 19, 2019

I understand. Mid-50s is a welcome break from all that tropical heat.

nrhatch - January 19, 2019

At this time of year, you can distinguish the year-round residents from the tourists and snowbirds ~> residents are wearing parkas zipped up to their chins . . . while visitors bounce around in shorts and t-shirts. πŸ˜€

Nothing beats FREE for sure! πŸ™‚
Ooh you Floridians are just so brave! LOL!

nrhatch - January 19, 2019

Yup! Home of the FREE and the BRAVE!

joyroses13 - January 19, 2019

Hahaha! πŸ™‚

4. Jill Weatherholt - January 19, 2019

Unless it’s at least 80 degrees…it’s cold! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - January 19, 2019

That’s sounds about right!

5. anotherday2paradise - January 19, 2019

What a lovely treat, Nancy. Cooler weather and free entertainment. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ»

nrhatch - January 19, 2019

And a good laugh out of his characterization! πŸ˜€

6. Val Boyko - January 19, 2019

Too funny! Lucky you πŸ’›

nrhatch - January 19, 2019

Here’s to “braving the elements” . . . with a light cardigan! πŸ˜›

7. L. Marie - January 19, 2019

Wow! Nice temperature! Meanwhile, it’s 19 degrees here. πŸ˜€ 😁 I was at Disneyland one year out in Anaheim when the temperature was in the 50s. Several people complained at how cold it was. I thought it was ideal!

nrhatch - January 19, 2019

Perspective is everything, eh? πŸ˜†

L. Marie - January 20, 2019

It is indeed! Though that temperature is cold if you’re expecting 70 or 80 degrees.

nrhatch - January 20, 2019

We’re going to have another “chilly” week . . . I will be BRAVE! πŸ˜†

8. Ally Bean - January 20, 2019

I’m not even going to mention your weather and go straight to what I feel is the point of this post. I didn’t know that Snoopy played the sax. I’ve learned something.

nrhatch - January 20, 2019

Well done! Life long learning is valuable. πŸ˜€

9. Debra - January 20, 2019

The comment about the weather is hysterical! it’s all perspective and what we’re accustomed to, I’m sure. I love a good concert and free? That is the perfect arrangement. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - January 20, 2019

Maybe there is no such thing as a FREE concert ~> I woke up with a nasty cold yesterday.

Coincidence, or not? πŸ˜›

Debra - January 21, 2019

That’s a bummer, Nancy!

nrhatch - January 21, 2019

The best thing about colds ~> they don’t stick around forever.

10. mybeautfulthings - January 21, 2019

Mid 50s is a pleasing Spring temperature for us. We are bouncing between 5C and 10C at the moment ( 40-50F) and the grass is still growing, the birds are very busy at the feeders and various Spring flowers are beginning to open. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - January 21, 2019

You’ve painted a lovely picture!

It’s quite chilly here today – in the low 40’s. Since I have a cold, I am staying inside.

mybeautfulthings - January 21, 2019

Oh, get well soon, stay warm and look after yourself. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - January 21, 2019

Thanks! I just made a pot of soup for lunch. Perfect day for it!

11. William D'Andrea - January 21, 2019

Today, here on Long Island, New York, the temperature on the thermometer outside my window is 15 degrees farenheit. The wind chill is below 0.
This is one of those days when we know what sailors mean, when they say, “Shiver my timbers!”
I normally walk about an hour a day, every day, at a vigorous pace. I believe that’s what keeps me in very good health, along with a healthy diet, and nutritional supplements.
However, considering the weather, there is no way I’m going outside today. I don’t think that would be good for my health, to have my timbers shivering. I’m sure that staying safely inside for one day, shouldn’t do me any harm.

nrhatch - January 21, 2019

It’s never a good idea to have your timbers shivering! Stay inside. March in place.

12. Tammy - January 21, 2019

Sounds perfect.

nrhatch - January 21, 2019

Hope you’re enjoying perfect winter weather. Soup optional!

13. Joanne Sisco - January 22, 2019

It certainly is all relative. Later today the temperatures will be around the freezing mark. It will feel outright balmy compared to the past 3 days πŸ˜†

nrhatch - January 22, 2019

Enjoy that balmy warmth! πŸ˜€

Joanne Sisco - January 22, 2019

It’s like spring πŸ˜‰ I put gas in the car a short while ago without feeling like I was taking my life in my hands πŸ˜‰

nrhatch - January 22, 2019

Awesome!
