Our Next Best House February 19, 2018

We found it!

After months of househunting (post hurricane evacuation), we found our next best house!

In Canada!

Right next to a happy sounding and quite refreshing waterfall.

See how happy I am?

Best of all, our new Hansel & Gretel cottage is located in Epcot so we won’t have to deal with the wild, wet, windy, wintry white weather associated with mainland Canada.

As an added bonus, the gorgeous grounds are manicured and maintained by an army of gardeners.

Now, we just need to negotiate the terms of sale with Mickey. Β Wish us luck!

Aah . . . that’s better!

It would be wonderful to live there! Love the garden.

This fairy tale cottage and its setting made me think of Marie Antoinette and her idyllic Petite Trianon (complete with perfumed sheep) on the grounds of Versailles.

Perfect!! 😁 You wont even have to mow the lawn!

nrhatch - February 19, 2018

Right! Just admire the flowers and enjoy the flow of the waterfall.

Val Boyko - February 19, 2018

And tap into some of that magic too!

nrhatch - February 19, 2018

Good idea! πŸ˜€

Canada without the ice and snow sounds great. What a lucky find!

nrhatch - February 19, 2018

Mickey’s being stalwart in his insistence that the cottage is NFS. We’ve even offered him a wheel of cheese. No dice.

I guess it’s time for Plan B. πŸ˜€

4. Kate Crimmins - February 19, 2018

Let me know when you move in. I’ll come and visit! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 19, 2018

Excellent! Bring the cats . . . they’ll enjoying meeting Mickey!

5. L. Marie - February 19, 2018

Ha ha! Good choice! And how nice to have others work on the landscaping!

nrhatch - February 19, 2018

Exactly! I can enjoy the colorful blooms AND the antics of Huey, Dewey, and Louie! Not to mention Donald.

They quack me up! πŸ˜€

6. Jill Weatherholt - February 19, 2018

I’d love to live there! Great photos, Nancy.

nrhatch - February 19, 2018

I have perfected the art of *snap* shots ~> I let the camera do all the work. πŸ˜€

How wonderful! Such gardens and no maintenance ! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 19, 2018

I know, right?!

8. Joanne Sisco - February 20, 2018

I might be a wee bit biased, but even with the ice and snow, Canada is a pretty awesome place to live πŸ˜‰

nrhatch - February 20, 2018

I would LOVE to live in Canada . . . but the snow is a no go. πŸ˜€

Joanne Sisco - February 20, 2018

Then maybe you would like today better – we still have residual snow, but with heavy rain and dense fog. The trifecta!! πŸ˜‰

nrhatch - February 20, 2018

Haha! No dice! Maybe I’ll come visit in June. πŸ˜€

9. Tiny - February 20, 2018

Looks perfect πŸ™‚ Rooting for a swift purchase!

nrhatch - February 20, 2018

I’ll invite you to the House Warming party!

10. anotherday2paradise - February 20, 2018

Goodness me! That’s quite an upgrade, Nancy. Hope you manage to negotiate a good rate. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 20, 2018

Thanks, Sylvia! Mickey is playing hard-ball with us, insisting that the cottage is NFS. I’ll keep you posted.

11. Debra - February 20, 2018

You had me going there for a minute, Nancy! I thought perhaps you were serious, and couldn’t imagine you giving up your wonderful climate even to avoid hurricanes. I like the idea of living in Epcot. Canada for a while, then on to France…you’d basically have it all. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 20, 2018

Canada is right next to Great Britain and then on to France with its delectable Boulangerie ~> ooh la la! πŸ˜€

12. Ally Bean - February 21, 2018

I’m sure you’ll be very happy in your new home. It’s so rustic and away from the crowds. Tres chic.
