This is my 3000th post.

When I started blogging, back in 2010, I had no idea that I would write anything close to that number of posts.

Or that I would be blogging for 8 years.

I guess that means that I’m prolific.
Or verbose.
Or both.

You decide.

Aah . . . that’s better!

Congratulations Nancy! I always enjoy reading your post. Hope you keep it going for another 1000 at least! xx

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Thanks, Rainee . . . it’s been a fun journey from there to here, with no current plans to stop.

I’ll keep allowing the path to unfold before me.

2. Jill Weatherholt - January 31, 2018

Congratulations, Nancy! Here’s to 3000 more! πŸŽŠπŸΎπŸŽ‰

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Thanks, Jill!

I started SLTW on a “whim” and had no idea that I’d still be at “it” eight years later. Blogging’s a fun way to wander around the country and the globe from the comfort of my own home. Write on!

Jill Weatherholt - January 31, 2018

I agree!

3. L. Marie - January 31, 2018

You deserve those roses and much more, Nancy! Congratulations!

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Thanks, LM!

I normally miss these “milestone moments” because I don’t check my stats very often. Last week I happened to see that SLTW had 2997 posted posts. I decided to commemorate #3000 with roses.

4. philosophermouseofthehedge - January 31, 2018

Whew. Congrats and well deserved!

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Thanks! Playing with words keeps me off the streets. πŸ˜€

5. William D'Andrea - January 31, 2018

Congratulations for reaching 3,000 Nancy!!!
Have you ever thought of publishing some of the best posts and responses?

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Thanks, William! I’ve thought about it, but publishing posts that include both text and photos can be a messy and time-consuming proposition. So . . . maybe someday. πŸ˜€

6. Val Boyko - January 31, 2018

You deserve a Knighthood Nancy. From now on,I will refer to you as Dame Nancy πŸ‘‘

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Haha! What will Dame Maggie and Dame Judy have to say about that?

Val Boyko - January 31, 2018

They would say welcome Dame Nancy πŸ’›

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Maggie would say, “What’s a blog?” πŸ˜€

7. Kate Crimmins - January 31, 2018

Congrats! That’s a long time of prolific writing!

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

This has been a fun journey/hobby, especially the interaction with other bloggers here and on their sites.

Thanks for being part of it!

8. Tippy Gnu - January 31, 2018

Happy 3,000th! Maybe you should get a raise. I propose doubling your salary.

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Ooh . . . great idea! And I’ll try not to spend it all at once. πŸ˜€

9. Sam - January 31, 2018

3000! I was chuffed with my 1000 haha.

3000 is pretty remarkable, I’m pleased you are continuing to do something you clearly enjoy and are dedicated to.
Congratulations πŸ™‚

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

Thanks, Sam! It’s been a fun road . . . with some great fellow passengers.

10. joyroses13 - January 31, 2018

Congrats! Wow! I was happy when I passed 1000! I still have a long way to go. πŸ™‚
Keep writing, keep the smiles coming! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - January 31, 2018

As long as I’m still smiling and laughing . . . I’m in!

joyroses13 - February 1, 2018

Sounds like a plan!! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 1, 2018

And if the plan doesn’t work? We’ll wing it! πŸ˜€

11. Joanne - February 1, 2018

WRITE ON, Nancy…!
πŸ€”πŸ’‘πŸŒŸπŸ’πŸ™

nrhatch - February 1, 2018

Thanks, Joanne!

BTW: I thought you’d say, “What a long strange trip it’s been.” πŸ˜€

12. Ally Bean - February 1, 2018

Congratulations on being so wordy. For so long. In so many fun ways.

nrhatch - February 1, 2018

Thanks, Ally Bean! “Wordy . . . in a fun way” sounds so much better than “verbose . . . in a tedious way.” πŸ˜€

13. Debra - February 1, 2018

I admire your persistence and the ability to contribute as regularly as you do! I’ve been “at it” almost as long, but I’m a far distance from #3000! Glad you’re here, Nancy! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 1, 2018

Thanks, Debra! Me too. Every time I think about “not writing” another post . . . I think of something else that I want to share.

Write on! Write on! Write on! πŸ˜€

14. Joanne Sisco - February 2, 2018

Congrats Nancy! That’s a huge milestone!

nrhatch - February 3, 2018

Thanks, Joanne. I’m surprised I spotted the “odometer” in time to commemorate it ~> my norm is to notice stats LONG AFTER the milestone has passed.

Joanne Sisco - February 4, 2018

Well at least you’re a step ahead of me … I don’t notice, at all πŸ™‚

15. Tiny - February 3, 2018

Congrats! We want 3000 more!

nrhatch - February 3, 2018

OK . . . but let’s space them out. I’ll do 3 posts a week for the next 1000 weeks.

At that point, I’ll be old enough to retire!

16. Tammy - February 5, 2018

Holy smokes Nancy! I cannot begin to imagine how you accomplished all that.

nrhatch - February 5, 2018

Back when, following a “pro’s advice,” I posted EVERY day. I like my new schedule better. πŸ˜€

17. javsimson - February 5, 2018

Congrats, Nancy! And I thought I was doing well when I broke through 100!

nrhatch - February 6, 2018

Thanks! Stats are great to measure quantity (e.g., the number of posts or comments or followers, etc.) . . . but to evaluate the quality of our interactions, we need a better measure. πŸ˜€

18. Anne Lene @ MinimalistSometimes - February 16, 2018

3000! That’s awesome. Congratulations.. I hope you keep it going… I wouldn’t mind 3000 more πŸ’•

nrhatch - February 16, 2018

Thanks, Anne! πŸ˜€

Now that I’m posting 3x a week (instead of every day), it will “only” take another 1000 weeks (i.e., 20 years) to get to post #6000. By then, I’ll be officially O~L~D.

Anne Lene @ MinimalistSometimes - February 17, 2018

You! Old? Nah.. don’t believe that for a second πŸ˜‰ you definitely won’t be old on the inside πŸ’•

nrhatch - February 18, 2018

Yup. Inside I still feel like I’m 21. And then I look in the mirror and get startled. πŸ˜€
