Woohoo! Thanks for this great start to the week Nancy 💛

Thanks, Val!

“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning.” ~ J.B. Priestley

Mindfulness…the eternal struggle for me!

nrhatch - October 9, 2017

When you noticed that guy in Starbucks sit down with a package without ordering . . . that’s mindfulness. If you’d been lost in thought, you would have been oblivious to his actions.

Kate Crimmins - October 9, 2017

Or self-preservation!

nrhatch - October 9, 2017

That’s the thing, Kate ~> back in the day, our ancestors had to be mindful of surroundings so they didn’t get eaten by a saber-tooth tiger. We generally don’t have to exercise that same level of awareness so we spend time mired in the past . . . or worrying about the future . . . or buried in our smart phones . . . instead of focusing on what’s in front of us.

3. Jill Weatherholt - October 9, 2017

Great stuff, Nancy!

nrhatch - October 9, 2017

Thanks, Jill!

“Why wait? Life is not a dress rehearsal. Quit practicing what you’re going to do, and just do it. In one bold stroke, you can transform today.” ~ Phillip Markins

4. Ally Bean - October 9, 2017

I’m getting more mindful each day as I get older. But it doesn’t just happen without intent. So easy to get distracted in our world right now.

nrhatch - October 9, 2017

Yes, it is easy to get distracted. We have to keep bringing ourselves back to the task!

“The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.” ~ J. Pierpoint Morgan

5. Rainee - October 9, 2017

You make it sound so easy Nancy! Wise words 🙂

nrhatch - October 9, 2017

It’s S-I-M-P-L-E . . . but not easy. It takes PRACTICE! 😀

“The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. The gift of life is yours. It is an amazing journey and you alone are responsible for the quality of it.” ~ Dan Zadra

6. Kate @ Did That Just Happen? - October 9, 2017

That is a great list! I work on making time for all of those items every day!

nrhatch - October 9, 2017

Great! Making room for what matters is key to our happiness.

7. anotherday2paradise - October 9, 2017

Great list, Nancy. My #1 is “Do more of what really matters to you.” 🙂

nrhatch - October 9, 2017

That’s at the top of my list too, Sylvia!

Great advice, Nancy! I’ll sign up.

nrhatch - October 9, 2017

Happy to see you “back in the ‘hood.” Keep breathing . . .

9. Joanne Sisco - October 9, 2017

It all boils down to live, love, laugh, learn. The 4 essentials 🙂

nrhatch - October 10, 2017

I essentially agree with you. 😀

10. L. Marie - October 10, 2017

I definitely needed this one today. I find myself edgy due to stress. Great advice, Nancy!

nrhatch - October 10, 2017

Keep Breathing . . .
Calm, steady breaths . . .

Aah . . . that’s better!

11. Debra - October 17, 2017

Lately I’ve been overcome by two many activities, Nancy. This is such a good reminder to think about re-ordering a bit. 🙂

nrhatch - October 18, 2017

It’s easy to get caught up in too many activities. Pressing the *PAUSE* button from time to time helps us re-prioritize.

Of course, we can also get stuck in the *PAUSE* mode. 😀
