The Parrot September 9, 2017

Posted by nrhatch in Humor, Joke.

Kate went to a pet shop and spotted a large, beautiful parrot.

The sign on the cage said $20.00.

“Why so little?” she asked the pet store owner.

“This bird used to live in a house of prostitution, and sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff.”

Kate thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird anyway.  She took it home and hung the bird’s cage in her living room.

The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said, “New house, new madam.”

Kate was taken aback at the implication, but then shrugged. “That’s really not so bad.”

When her two teenage daughters returned from school, the bird saw them and said, “New house, new madam, new girls.”

Kate and her daughters burst out laughing at the parrot’s unfiltered utterance.

A few minutes later, Kate’s husband Dave came home from work.

The bird looked at him and said, “Hi Dave.”

Aah . . . that’s tricky!

That is what is known as over-familiarity[!

Thanks for the good thougtts! We evacuated and are at a friend’s house about 16 miles inland.

Our house is in a mandatory evacuation zone subject to the expected storm surge. We brought an elderly friend with us who is also in the mandatory evacuation zone.

We’re feeling reasonably well-prepared.but TIRED!

This is exactly what I wanted to know, Nancy. Hope when you return home you’ll find all is well. I’ve been thinking of you throughout this havoc and sending lots of good thoughts your way.

Ahhhh ha ha ha…! Bet that parrot (and Dave) won’t live very long after that. Nothing like laughter to keep your mind off of hurricanes…!

Thinking of you and my cousins and some others I know down there. Keep us in the loop, Nancy, in case we need to think extra hard and send even more positive vibes your way 😏🙏🏽

Busted! Lol this was hilarious, poor Dave 😂

I’m glad you are in a safer place, I hope you all stay safe over the next few days and that you can go home to a place still standing when Irma is done. Thinking about you, big hug.

We are OK. Don’t know when we can go home. Lost power last night but just got it back.

L. Marie - September 11, 2017

Glad you’re okay!

nrhatch - September 11, 2017

Me too! We feel incredibly lucky given how much worse it could have been. BFF checked our villa – OK but no power so we are spending another night with our generous hostess!

13. roughwighting - September 13, 2017

ACK (as a parrot might screech). Too funny (for everyone but Dave…!!) Glad you still have a sense of humor despite the scares. Stay safe!

nrhatch - September 15, 2017

We experienced more disruption of our routine than destruction or devastation. So, yay! But it will take time to restore order from the chaos. BFF is across the street wrestling with a tree in an effort to restore water to some homes on the street.

So funny, Nancy! I have a long held belief that most truths eventually come to light! Sometimes through unanticipated truth-tellers! 😊

Yes! Sometimes it’s fun to watch the “spilling of the beans.”
