New Belgium Brewery & Fat Tire Beer June 19, 2017
Posted by nrhatch in Food & Drink, Travel & Leisure.trackback
After sampling Doug’s brews on Friday and Saturday, we went on a Tasting Tour of the New Belgium Brewery on Sunday . . .
New Belgium is home to Fat Tire beer.
The brewery is decked out with bicycles.
And some great revolving wall art.
The process is the same, but with much bigger equipment!
Did I mention that it was a Tasting Tour?
We enjoyed ample samples.
Here’s the group looking a bit sleepy before the tasting started . . .
Once the tasting began, interest picked up and we perked up . . .
Still farther along on the tour . . .
For the finale, we got to slide down a fireman’s pole transformed into a chute!
I also loved this montage . . .
And this beer can chandelier . . .
As we left, I spotted this sign of the times . . .
Aah . . . that’s better!

I love the craft breweries that are popping up around Pennsylvania. It looks like a fun tour Nancy!
Touring breweries, wineries, and distilleries is fun, tasty, AND (above all) educational . . .
Yeah, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! 😀
Sounds like my story Nancy!
😉
What a great chandelier! It looks like you had a fun day, Nancy. 🙂
We did! It was a cool follow-up to seeing Doug’s home brewing operation . . .
This has nothing to do with brew tours . . . but I got a kick out of it:

Wow. Looks like a really fun place to visit!!!
Brew Tours + Tastings = Perfect Together!
Pretty cool. We did a Yuengling’s tour a few years back. It was more rustic (think dirt floor basement with rickety steps that was freezing cold in the hot summer heat) but the beer was good.
Yuengling is the oldest brewery in the US, I believe ~> you’d think they would have had time to make some updates. 😀
I think they took us through the oldest part for ambience. I wondered if they had liability insurance.
I hope that a beer which is named after a fat tire, doesn’t taste like one.
The guy named it “Fat Tire” because on a biking trip in Belgium (while riding on fat tires) he had the idea for the brew or the brewery or both.
What fun! Nothing better than free beer.
It right up there on my fave list!
Breweries are so fascinating and what a great article! Have a wonderful week.
Thanks! You too . . .
Thanks so much!
Reblogged this on MY OWN BEAUTY 2017.
I love the can crusher on the montage!
Crushing beer cans before recycling keeps neighbors clueless about current consumption levels. 😀
My DH’s favorite beer!
It’s a good one!
Fat Tire is a popular beer ’round here, Nancy. What a fun place to do your sampling. 🙂 I love the decor!
I’ve always enjoyed Fat Tire . . . so it was fun to visit its home base. New Belgium Brewery is an employee-friendly business with FUN perks for employees after 24 months, 36 months, etc.
