On Saturday, January 21, Harbour Isles invited us to enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting, culinary delights, live entertainment, a water ski show, an aerial artist performance, a showcase of prestigious automobiles, cigar rolling, chair massages, and much more . . .

I planned to go and roll a cigar, get a massage, and pretend I owned one of the prestigious automobiles.

Like this one!

So off we went.

After a glass of champagne poured by an upside-down aerial artist at one of the model homes, we headed to the clubhouse for wine, snacks, and dessert shooters.

Wine in hand, we headed past the pool to a small beach area overlooking the inter coastal ~ populated with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, palm trees, etc.

Aah . . . the perfect spot to hang out while listening to the band and waiting for the water skiers to put on a show.

After an hour or so on the beach, we capped off An Island Event by heading upstairs to shoot some pool.

We even gave a few pointers to an octogenarian who hadn’t been around a pool cue in a decade or two.

Aah . . . that’s better!

It’s a tough life but somebody’s gotta do it! 🙂

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

Exactly! Now we just need to find similar events for the other 51 weeks of the year.

2. Jill Weatherholt - January 31, 2017

Looks like a fun outing…and beautiful weather too. The upside-down aerial artist cracks me up!

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

The weather was gorgeous ~ you can see the day’s true blue sky behind the aerial artist.

After that shot, I forgot to snap any photos, so the rest are recycled from previous visits to Harbour Isle, a car show @ St. Armand’s Circle, and the Ski-A-Roos water skiers in Sarasota.

Who needs to be royalty when you can live like this?

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

It was a fun couple of hours . . . but we’re glad we ate lunch before heading over. Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten Free were not forefront in the caterer’s mind when preparing the menu. So I had to satisfy myself with champagne and wine. Darn! 😀

Champagne and wine, darn you live a tough life 😘

nrhatch - February 6, 2017

I don’t drink often these days . . . but a subtle buzz once in a blue moon is fun.

Although it did make playing pool a bit more challenging. 😀

Anne Lene @ MinimalistSometimes - February 8, 2017

I’m right there with you 😀 not a big drinker, but for the occasional champagne and margarita (off course) 😉

nrhatch - February 8, 2017

Mais oui!

4. Joanne Sisco - January 31, 2017

Now that’s enjoying a weekend in style 🙂

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

We rarely SIT on the beach ~ instead, we walk for a couple of miles and then head home. It was delightful to just SIT in the adirondack chairs and admire the day and the sway of the palms.

The champagne and wine added to the joie de vivre.

And teaching the rather delightful 80-year-old how to set up pool shots was a great way to cap off the day.

Joanne Sisco - January 31, 2017

I’m not a beach bunny at all. My attention span is too short. If I’m going to be on a beach, I want to be walking, swimming, snorkelling, … something!
However, a party on a beach is an entirely different thing 🙂

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

You sound just like us . . . “we got to move it, move it.” But this was the perfect venue, weather, and day to sit and listen to the band (awesome tunes), watch the water and clouds roll by, sip wine, and chat with the “locals.”

5. Kate Crimmins - January 31, 2017

Sounds lovely and the weather….oh my! *so jealous*

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

It’s been cool the past few days (hoodies required for warmth while walking into a stiff breeze), but today we are rebounding to the low 70’s! Yay!

6. Ally Bean - January 31, 2017

Enjoy. It looks like upside down world to me! Nice to know that someone somewhere has some sunshine and bubbles in their life. Around here? Gray.

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

Wishing you sunshine and smiles, Ally Bean. We’ve had a few gray cool days this week, but the sun is back in full force at the moment and we expect brighter weather for the rest of the week. Yay!

Lovely. That car looks futuristic. 🙂

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

That’s a Bugatti ~ a very expensive futuristic car:

Thanks, Val! ‘Tis sweet, indeed.

9. Under the Oaks - January 31, 2017

Sounds wonderful! So beautiful there!

nrhatch - January 31, 2017

Are you guys heading down this year? If you decide to visit Venice, give us a shout out and we’ll drive down to see ya!

Under the Oaks - February 4, 2017

Call you later today… 🙂

nrhatch - February 4, 2017

Enjoyed our chat!

10. Bun Karyudo - February 1, 2017

That aerial artist was very clever. If she can drink the champagne without it going up her nose, I’ll be even more impressed!

nrhatch - February 1, 2017

Next time, I’ll double dog dare her to try it!

11. L. Marie - February 1, 2017

Sounds like a great time!!! I feel relaxed just looking at the photos!

nrhatch - February 1, 2017

Cool! Sometimes virtual reality is as relaxing as the real deal.

12. Debra - February 2, 2017

What a splendid way to spend a day, Nancy! You definitely know how to beat the odds on high blood pressure! 🙂

nrhatch - February 2, 2017

Most of January I’ve been “holed up” in my office organizing years of financial files, medical records, HOA paperwork, etc.

Now it’s time to P~L~A~Y!

13. Tiny - February 4, 2017

What can I say? The wonderful Florida life…is to be enjoyed!

nrhatch - February 4, 2017

Exactly! So many opportunities . . . so many sunny days!
