I had a quick look at the website. It looks beautiful. The water is an amazing color, as though someone had turned Canada’s Lake Louise into a waterfall.

We saw this park on a Rick Steve’s travel show and thought no more about it . . . Until I got a Small Group Tours invitation to go to Croatia and see it in person. I compromised by checking it out on line and sharing it here.

Bun Karyudo - October 31, 2016

I’m glad you did. It looks wonderful. I have no immediate plans to visit Croatia, but who knows? Maybe one day!

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

Same here. No plans . . . infinite possibilities!

2. Val Boyko - October 31, 2016

Looks wonderful!!

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

Scrolling through the website was like walking through a wonderland . . . Even the winter scenes seemed enticing.

Val Boyko - October 31, 2016

Maybe we could go on a flotilla along the amazing coast as well! Then we’d never want to come home 😉

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

Yes! As you no doubt suspect, I’m partial to coastlines.

3. Jill Weatherholt - October 31, 2016

Check out that water! Stunning!

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

As visitors walk through the park, they are serenaded by waterfall after waterfall after waterfall. Around every corner is a scene more spectacular than the last. I would use up my daily allotment of “oohs” and “aahs” in no time.

4. Rainee - October 31, 2016

I have seen some documentaries on Croatia and it seems to be a beautiful part of the world :).

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

I don’t remember much about the areas that Rick Steve’s visited except for this park . . . Probably because he spends lots of time in cities, museums, churches, etc.

Man made stuff doesn’t WOW me in the same way as nature. It’s forgettable.

5. Tippy Gnu - October 31, 2016

Looks like a nice place to visit.

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

Maybe you can go when all the Japanese tourists are busy taking selfies! 😉

Tippy Gnu - October 31, 2016

Yikes. Well that’s the problem. All those nice photos you posted don’t show all the crowds. Best to read the Yelp reviews.

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

I did see some photos on the website with THRONGS of tourists crowding the boardwalk. That would detract from the ambience for me.

6. L. Marie - October 31, 2016

Wow! Beautiful!!!

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

My thoughts exactly!

7. suzicate - October 31, 2016

Wow! The earth sure is a beautiful place…I have no interest in Mars!

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

Me neither. As long as Earth will sustain me . . . I shall stay put.

Those who want to colonize Mars with 1,000,000 pioneers will have to do so without including me in that count.

8. earnestlydebra - October 31, 2016

How beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

nrhatch - October 31, 2016

Thanks, Debra. Glad you enjoyed seeing Plitvice Lakes.

9. anitashree - November 1, 2016

Oh wow..amazing!!!

nrhatch - November 1, 2016

Best of luck with Nano Poblano!

anitashree - November 1, 2016

Thank you! 🙂

10. Ally Bean - November 2, 2016

This lake doesn’t look real. Are you sure you didn’t take this photo at Disney World? Those colors.

nrhatch - November 3, 2016

I know ~> the place is surreal . . . in all the BEST ways!

11. Debra - November 5, 2016

I’ve never heard of this gorgeous place, Nancy. A very good bucket list destination, I’d say! I aggregate with Ally–it doesn’t look real. 🙂

nrhatch - November 5, 2016

I have a thing for waterfalls . . . And this park is inundated with them. A magical place for sure.

12. wildlife-reporter - December 12, 2016

Lovely place! Following…in case you have some more lovely national parks!

13. nrhatch - December 13, 2016

No plans for national park posts any time in the near future.

Past posts on parks would be tagged “Nature” ~> to find them, use the drop down menu below the calendar.
