What A Pain! June 4, 2016

Posted by nrhatch in Humor, Joke.

Woodstock-&-Snoopy3A couple went to the hospital to have their baby delivered. Upon arrival, the doctor said that the hospital was testing an amazing new high-tech machine that would transfer a portion of the mother’s labor pain to the baby’s father.

He asked if they were interested. Both said they were very much in favor of it.

The doctor set the pain transfer to 10% for starters, explaining that even 10% was probably more pain than the father had ever experienced before.

But as the labor progressed, the husband felt fine and asked the doctor to go ahead and kick it up a notch.

The doctor adjusted the machine to 20% pain transfer. The husband was still feeling fine. The doctor then checked the husband’s blood pressure and was amazed at how well he was doing.

At this point they decided to try for 50%. The husband continued to have no problems.

Since the pain transfer was obviously helping his wife, the husband encouraged the doctor to transfer ALL the pain to him.

The wife delivered a healthy baby with virtually no pain for her or her husband. She and her husband were ecstatic.

When they got home, they found the mailman dead on the porch.

Aah . . . that’s better!

I bet that mailman wondered what hit him!

4. L. Marie - June 4, 2016

Didn’t see that coming!!! 🙂

nrhatch - June 4, 2016

Neither did the mailman . . . or the gallant husband!

5. Tippy Gnu - June 4, 2016

As a retired mailman, I like this joke. Though it does make me a little nervous.

nrhatch - June 4, 2016

Some mailmen (and Fed Ex guys) are petrified by this joke.

If you’re just a “little nervous,” you must have behaved yourself.
Most of the time.

6. Under the Oaks - June 4, 2016

Took me a second… duh!

nrhatch - June 4, 2016

It’s early still, Pix.

I shouldn’t spring “who dunnits?” on unsuspecting readers first thing in the morning.

That mailman must have sounded like Tattoo on Fantasy Island:

“Oh . . . De pain! De pain!”

9. diannegray - June 4, 2016

Haaaaaa! I didn’t see that coming, Nancy! Good one 😀

nrhatch - June 4, 2016

That mailman delivered more than the mail . . . and got a “special delivery” in return.

10. Carol Ferenc - June 4, 2016

Nope, didn’t see that coming, Nancy. Good one 🙂

nrhatch - June 4, 2016

Glad you enjoyed the surprise ending.

11. brickhousechick - June 4, 2016

HA!! Love that, wasn’t expecting the ending! I needed something funny to read, Nancy. You always deliver. 🙂

nrhatch - June 4, 2016

This post is all about the delivery!

12. Barb - June 4, 2016

Oops…..talk about special delivery!

nrhatch - June 4, 2016

Yup. A special delivery from the delivery.

13. Tiny - June 4, 2016

Men, men…thanks for the good laugh😎

nrhatch - June 4, 2016

This joke raises the question ~> Where would joke writers be if people behaved?

14. Bun Karyudo - June 4, 2016

You got me with the punchline! I guess it’s not surprising that a joke about a mailman would have such good delivery. 🙂

C.O.D. ~> Chuckles on Delivery.

15. Grannymar - June 5, 2016

The punchline took me by complete surprise. Great laugh to start my day!

nrhatch - June 5, 2016

Yay! Surprise punchlines are the best.

16. Debra - June 6, 2016

Did not see that one coming! I’m sure the poor milkman didn’t either. Ha!

nrhatch - June 6, 2016

John Lennon tried to warn him . . .

Instant Karma’s gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head

17. Patricia - June 6, 2016

Love surprise endings. The mailman probably didn’t.

nrhatch - June 7, 2016

The husband must have been dismayed to find that package on the front steps.

I do not know where you find these. So funny and clever. I’ve shared this three times already. I so look forward to your smiles.

nrhatch - June 7, 2016

Yay! Glad you enjoyed, Barb. Most of the recent shares have come from someone in the neighborhood, but I also have an occasional supplier in South Africa.
