A Quiet Romantic Dinner March 5, 2016

Mickey-and-Minnie-kissA man and a woman were having a quiet, romantic dinner in a fine restaurant, gazing at each other and holding hands.

The waitress, taking another order at a table a few steps away, suddenly noticed the woman slowly sliding down her chair and under the table while the man stared straight ahead.

The waitress watched as the woman slid all the way down her chair and out of sight under the table.

Still, the man stared straight ahead.

The waitress, thinking the behavior a bit risque and worried that it might offend other diners, went over to the table and, with tact, said: “Pardon me, sir, but I think your wife just slid under the table.”

Mickey-OKThe man looked up and said: “No, she didn’t. She just walked in.”

Aah . . . that’s better!

Thank you for my Saturday morning chuckle Nancy!

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

My pleasure! This joke reminds me of Mrs. Patmore’s “den of iniquity” on Downton this season ~ guilt by association.

Val Boyko - March 5, 2016

😆

2. Hariod Brawn - March 5, 2016

I bet that spoilt his whore-d’oeuvre.

anotherday2paradise - March 5, 2016

Very sharp. 🙂

Hariod Brawn - March 5, 2016

We Brits do love a pun don’t we Sylvia?

anotherday2paradise - March 5, 2016

Oh yes, a really good one can make our day. 😀

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

Haha! Funny Punny, Hariod. Especially since hors d’oeuvres are meant to be “passed around.” 😉

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

Oops . . . according to the Urban Dictionary, whore d’oeuvres aren’t meant JUST to be passed around! 😯

Hariod Brawn - March 5, 2016

😮

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

Yes! The Urban Dictionary can be rather . . . Sexplicit!

3. BunKaryudo - March 5, 2016

Uh-oh… 🙂

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

His wife will have to act pretty “naive” if she chooses to overlook the obvious ~> hubby sitting at a table set for two when he’s a party of one! 🙄

BunKaryudo - March 5, 2016

That’s true. The second glass of champagne with lipstick on the rim is not going to be easy to explain away either, although I’m sure he’ll try. (I wish those stupid waiters would stop doing that! An unwanted second glass again and a dirty one to boot!)

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

It would be fun to watch that scene unfold ~ let’s get Eric Idle or John Cleese to play the part of the Wayward Husband!

4. anotherday2paradise - March 5, 2016

Hehehe……..What a surprise! 😀

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

Guess his male “Ego” wanted a bit more stroking! 🙄

anotherday2paradise - March 5, 2016

😳

5. L. Marie - March 5, 2016

Hilarious, Nancy! Your reply to L. Marie was exactly what I was thinking…great song!

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

Glad you enjoyed! Paul Simon sang some awesome songs.

7. Under the Oaks - March 5, 2016

Oops! 🙂

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

Exactly! Hope you and CH are enjoying a wonderful weekend. How’s the foundation work coming along?

Under the Oaks - March 6, 2016

Been beautiful here… 😎 CH golfed, I walked. Foundation work done and good, waiting for our contractor to come put the room back together Tuesday. Looks like a beautiful day in your neighborhood!

nrhatch - March 6, 2016

Yay! Glad to hear you’ve got a “firm foundation” again AND beautiful weather “to boot.”

Weather’s perfect here ~ warm enough for water aerobics and cool enough to walk, bike, or . . . sit in the sun and read.

8. Carol Ferenc - March 5, 2016

Well, now my weekend is off to a good start! Thanks, Nancy 🙂

nrhatch - March 5, 2016

10. Barb - March 6, 2016

Oops! Not what I was expecting….thanks for the chuckle Nancy!

nrhatch - March 6, 2016

As jokes go . . . this one had the potential to be a lot “racier.” 😉

11. Grannymar - March 6, 2016

For once I am glad to be late to the table. The comments were as much fun as the original story. Thanks Nancy!

nrhatch - March 6, 2016

Yay! Glad you enjoyed, GM.

12. Debra - March 7, 2016

Seems like an entirely reasonable explanation! 🙂 Very funny!

nrhatch - March 7, 2016

Now I have another reason to people watch in restaurants ~> to see if anyone is trying to give someone “the slip”! 😉
