Afterward he stopped to shake the preacher’s hand, “Preacher, I’ll tell you, that was a damned fine sermon…. Damned good!”
The preacher said, “Thank you sir, but I’d rather you didn’t use profanity.”
The man said, “I was so damned impressed with that sermon I put five thousand dollars in the offering plate!”
The preacher grinned, “No shit?”
Aah . . . that’s better!

I DID see that one coming! Hope your swim was a good one!
Money talks! And sometimes swears. 😉
Good swim Thursday.
NOT today ~> 51 degrees!!!
Better than 27!
You got me there!
Yep, saw that one too. Hey you have to roll with the punches (and keep the money coming in!)
A lot of people swear by money! 😎
Can’t lose with that!
That sounds like par for the course, Nancy. 😀
It does! Have a jolly time in England.
Profanity is taking God’s Name in vain, which is in violation of a Commandment.
The S word however, is not profanity. It’s obscenity, which is not breaking any Commandment; but Christians are encouraged to be temperate in their use of language.
Now if someone says, “Holy s__t!” it might be considered both obscenity and profanity; and his mother might wash his mouth out with soap.
I never knew there was a distinction between “profanity” and “obscenity.”
I swear! 😛
Money sure talks…. in more than one language! 😆
Indeed . . . a universal language.
Damn good 😆
Is that oath under oath? 😉
Dammit, money still talks!
Of curse it does!!!
I suppose that was the first words to pop into his head. We’ll give him a pass this time. 🙂
My guess? The preacher wanted that man to feel “right at home” so he’d became a frequent repeat visitor.
Haaaaa! damned fine joke, Nancy 😀
Just drop $5000 in the collection plate on your way out!
That was a good one! Money talks, at least as long as we’re here on earth 👽
Yes. The days of trading in shells and beaver pelts is long gone.
Damn … I LOVE that one!!
Damn glad to hear that, Carol. 😎
This is another great one! I have a minister cousin…I’m going to share this one with him for sure. He’ll love it! 🙂
Yay! Hope he gets a kick out of it. I like a minister who can roll with the punches without getting hot under the collar.
