Donald-DirectorIt’s easier to meet and even exceed expectations when the bar is set LOW.

LOWER.

LOWEST.

Except, of course, when dancing the LIMBO after drinking a Jumbo Jamba Juice.

Or when skating under 39 cars like a human pancake.

Aah . . . that’s better!

I have to confess Nancy that there have been and are some moments in life where I have felt that I was dancing the Limbo. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

D’ya mean ya waz “loose as a goose” while getting the full “low down”?

Or that you’ve been “lying down on the job”?

2. L. Marie - September 7, 2015

Oh my word! My back hurt just looking at the first video! And what a precious little boy! Both are very talented. But I felt claustrophobic at the notion of skating under even one car. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

Talk about being on the “down low” . . . wow! The little boy reminds me of the song “Rubberband Man.”

3. Jill Weatherholt - September 7, 2015

Guess what? I once won a limbo contest, while in Key West, during my college days. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

Woo Hoo! That’s cool, Jill. And no better place than in Key West, mon. 😎

4. suzicate - September 7, 2015

I used to love to limbo…when I was in elementary school and flexible, ha! These days I might even have a hard time stepping over the lowest bar! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s SUZICATE! Able to leap “low bars” in a single bound! πŸ˜›

5. Carol Ferenc - September 7, 2015

I could never do the limbo very well but I could do the twist, the mashed potato and even the watusi once upon a time. Do those count?

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

Of course. Remember . . . we are setting the bar LOW!

6. BunKaryudo - September 7, 2015

These are amazingly low! They’re still not as low as Donald Trump on immigration, though.

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

His campaign slogan might as well be “Trump is a Chump!” :/

BunKaryudo - September 7, 2015

Yep, agreed!

nrhatch - September 8, 2015

Or . . . “Vote for Trump if YOU are a Chump!”

7. NancyTex - September 7, 2015

Wow!

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

Yoga has not prepared me for becoming a pancake!

8. Eileen - September 7, 2015

Truly bizarre, but interesting. I wonder why someone begins doing these kinds of things and how many hours of trial and error it takes?

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

I expect that most Limbo dancers knocked the bar down a time or two hundred before mastering the technique.

As for the young skater . . . he skates a couple hours a day.

9. Val Boyko - September 7, 2015

Woo hoo! Setting the bar low takes on a whole new meaning… πŸ˜‰

nrhatch - September 7, 2015

Exactly! When I practiced law and adversaries underestimated my abilities, I let them . . . until we got to court. SURPRISE!

Val Boyko - September 7, 2015

Love it!!

nrhatch - September 8, 2015

People see what they want to see ~> It’s great FUN to sneak in under the radar.

10. Debra - September 8, 2015

You’ve illustrated that setting a low bar can be an art form. πŸ™‚ So much better than always thinking we need to tackle the hurdles, right? πŸ™‚ I loved your comment to Val about how you handled your legal adversaries when they underestimated you. Brilliant tactic! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - September 8, 2015

Thanks, Debra!

Instead of tackling hurdles or wrestling boulders, we kick each “pebble” we encounter to the curb as the path unfolds before us.

Or we just walk around the hurdles, boulders, and pebbles!

11. kateshrewsday - September 8, 2015

Wow, it’s a long time since my limbs would do anything like this πŸ™‚

nrhatch - September 8, 2015

Same here. Definitely NOT a pastime for the “stiff of joint.” :/

12. Pix Under the Oaks - September 8, 2015

I used to be pretty good at the LIMBO… πŸ˜€ That kid has to be double jointed, definitely VERY flexible!
Good Morning! Dragging a bit here after too much Labor Day FOOD and visiting!

nrhatch - September 8, 2015

I can see you on the LIMBO floor setting the bar LOW for the rest of us, Pix.

Take it EZ today ~> rest up from the weekend! 😎

13. diannegray - September 8, 2015

I think my limbo bar is set at about 5′ 5″ – any lower and I’d fall over backward. The first guy is awesome, but I’m afraid my back wouldn’t let me go that low (LOL). And wouldn’t it be nice to have the stretching power of that little kid, I’d probably break a hip…

nrhatch - September 8, 2015

Even attempting to roller skate AROUND 39 cars would give me cause for pause.

Underneath them??? Only in my dreams . . . where I also FLY!.

diannegray - September 8, 2015

Flying in dreams is a great sign, Nancy πŸ˜€

nrhatch - September 9, 2015

Last night, in a dream, I bit into a piece of bitter eggplant and couldn’t spit it out fast enough. I wonder what’s UP with that?

diannegray - September 12, 2015

LOL! I just love dreams! πŸ˜€

nrhatch - September 12, 2015

Me too! It’s fun to see how bits and pieces of the day get spun into our dreams.

14. Tiny - September 8, 2015

Very cool, Nancy! Not in my lowest low have I been so low, but still felt like a human pancake at times πŸ™‚

nrhatch - September 8, 2015

Growing up, we had Great Danes. When Sandy, Duchess, or Freia decided to be a “lap dog” . . . I felt like a pancake!

Tiny - September 9, 2015

I can see that πŸ˜€
