220px--Lena_Horne_conserves_fuel_(gas).-,_ca._1941_-_ca._1945_-_NARA_-_535820On a bitterly cold morning a husband and wife were listening to the radio during breakfast.

The announcer said, “We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. Park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so snowplows can get through.”

The husband went out and moved his car.

A week later, the announcer said, “We’re expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today.  Park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street so snowplows can get through.”

The husband went out and moved his car again.

The next week they are again having breakfast when the radio announcer says, “We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today.  Park your car . . . ”

Then the electric power went out.

Donald-Duck-DrivingWith a frown, the husband said, “I don’t know what to do.  Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snowplows can get through?”

With the love, understanding, and patience that many married women possess, the wife replied,  “Why don’t you just leave the car in the garage this time?”

Aah . . . that’s better!

“Men marry women with the hope that they will never change. Women marry men with the hope they will change. Invariably, they are both disappointed.”    ~ Albert Einstein

Ha-ha. Typical insight on both sexes, and I LOVE the Einstein quote which sums it up perfectly 🙂

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

Einstein nailed it . . . so much so that I had to give the car mover a sex change operation so “she” became a “he.”

2. Val Boyko - August 22, 2015

Good one! Albert Einstein was a wise man in many ways 😄

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

I’ve seen some terrific quotes attributed to Einstein . . . along with some potent theorems. Wise man.

He would know to leave the car in the garage on snow days.

Val Boyko - August 22, 2015

Or live in a city with good public transport so he didn’t have to deal with it at all. 😉

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

Or spend the winters in Florida at his estate in Ft. Myers!

3. Hariod Brawn - August 22, 2015

Men can be rather literal in their logic! 🙂

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

When I received this joke, a dumb blonde starred as the car mover, but that made no sense to me ~> dumb blondes are trophy wives who NEVER have to move the car on snowy days.

4. colonialist - August 22, 2015

Hmm. I’ve seen that one before, but the car-mover was a blonde wife! *smugly* That is a far more likely scenario. 🙂

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

She was a blonde wife . . . who morphed! 😛

anotherday2paradise - August 22, 2015

Hey, Col………I saw this comment! 😏

colonialist - August 22, 2015

* Big oopsie … *

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

No worries, mon!

5. Carol Ferenc - August 22, 2015

I love this! It sounds just like life here in Minnesota 🙂

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

Yes! Minnesota gets a bit more snow than we do in Florida! 😎

6. Don - August 22, 2015

Einstein knew what he was talking about. 🙂

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

A true genius!

7. L. Marie - August 22, 2015

Ha ha ha!!!

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

Great to hear that cyber laughter, Linda!

8. anotherday2paradise - August 22, 2015

Bwahahaha………I didn’t see that one coming. Thanks for the laugh, Nancy. 😀

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

Glad you enjoyed, Sylvia! We’re off to the Grand Opening of the Beach Club across the street. Hope the temps dip a bit more so we can enjoy being outdoors as well as in.

SNOW is NOT in the forecast tonight.

9. Tiny - August 22, 2015

Now this made me laugh 😀 And the quote is just perfect!

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

Einstein’s observation suited this joke to perfection!

10. Eileen - August 22, 2015

Good one! Definitely agree with the quote, though confess it doesn’t sound like something Einstein would say.

nrhatch - August 22, 2015

Who knows if he said it for real . . . but it is attributed to him (even on t-shirts).

11. Pix Under the Oaks - August 23, 2015

I agree… Einstein was a very smart man!
Good Morning, Nancy!
We have been to the State Fair… Fair FOOD!

nrhatch - August 23, 2015

Eating your way across the midway ~> Yum! 😎

We’ve seen a couple of shows on TV devoted to Carnival Eats and Fair Food ~> YOWSA! Some of the creations are a roller coaster ride all on their own.

Pix Under the Oaks - August 23, 2015

Favorite… fried green tomatoes 😀

12. Debra - August 24, 2015

I did not know that quote was attributed to Albert Einstein! I love that! I think this humorous story could quite easily fit under my own roof. My husband is a tremendously hard working man, but sometimes he is so focused on the work that he ignores an obvious solution. I like to avoid the work, so I strategize better. We do make a good team, though, I think. 🙂

nrhatch - August 24, 2015

Well put, Debra . . . and same here. BFF does most of the “heavy lifting” but I often jump in with a labor saving idea. 💡

Like you guys, we make a good team!

13. Tammy - August 24, 2015

Given that I am a rule follower. – could see this operating the other way around in our house.

nrhatch - August 24, 2015

Really? You don’t seem like a “rule follower,” Tammy. You seem like a “trend setter.”

I’m a rule breaker ~> provided my car isn’t going to get plowed under a ton of snow by my failure to follow the rules. 😎

14. Kate @ Did That Just Happen? - August 24, 2015

hahahahahahahaha – that was great!

nrhatch - August 24, 2015

To laughter!

15. brickhousechick - August 24, 2015

Ha,ha,ha! Love it. And Einstein rocks cuz he got it right. 🙂

nrhatch - August 24, 2015

Agreed!

16. reocochran - August 25, 2015

First of all, always love the humor you spread from great choices of stories, Nancy. This one cracked me up! Second, the black and white photo was so fun, too. I enjoy nostalgic memories of my Mom, Aunt or Grandma dressed up with an apron on. 🙂

nrhatch - August 25, 2015

Yes! Aprons remind me of my mother, great aunt, and grandmother slaving away in the kitchen on holidays . . . intent on protecting their holiday finery from spills and splatters.!

17. joanfrankham - August 25, 2015

very funny,we usually don’t have that much snow here in Ireland, so I think we are safe whichever side we park on!

nrhatch - August 25, 2015

We’ve never lived in a “real” city, so it’s never been an issue for us. That said, I’m sure BFF would know to leave the car in the garage. He’s bright that way.

18. Barb - August 26, 2015

This is soooooooo true. Sometimes I’m afraid my eyes are going to come loose from rolling them too often. Great smiles for today!

nrhatch - August 26, 2015

Haha! Eye rolls and biting our tongues. 🙄

19. BunKaryudo - September 5, 2015

The Einstein quote is new to me. He doesn’t want her to change. She does want him to change. Some things just don’t change.

nrhatch - September 8, 2015

It’s the circle of life! 😎
