Love What You’ve Done With The Place September 26, 2014

BFF is painting, which means that we are stepping over and around drop cloths and displaced possessions.
Tigger doesn’t like it. Not one little bit. He is overflowing with reproachful glances (a/k/a “giving us the stink eye”).
From his perspective, it’s unneeded disruption of a carefully honed routine.
That’s too bad.
We didn’t give him a vote.
Even after he tried to stuff the Ballot Box.
Aah . . . that’s better!

Poor Tigger! The things cats have to put up with 🙂
He is astounded at our unmitigated gall!
Oh My I am just like Tigger.. not fond of painting and don’t like my space turned all upside down!
I’m feeling a bit dizzy with all the topsy turvy ~ it looks like a bomb went off. And the rooms that aren’t being painted look almost as bad since they’ve had to absorb displaced objects.
It is decidedly un-ZEN at the moment.
Not happy Mom!
He would have loved the chaos a few years ago. Now he’s set in his ways and wants us set in HIS ways too.
I’m impressed with how many drop cloths you’ve gathered and used. I used to like to paint. It’s so much easier, though, in an empty house. Is BFF totally in charge, or are you painting too?
This project started at the linen closet where we recruited a number of sheets to become drop cloths. BFF is doing all the painting. He doesn’t trust me with a brush. Or roller. Especially on the top of a ladder.
It’s going to look great, Nancy! Poor Tigger he did look mad at first, but he seems pretty content in the box. 🙂
He is ready for the world to return to a familiar orbit, but he’s managing. AND he hasn’t brushed up against any wet paint yet.
How completely inconsiderate of you to put him out like that. Poor, poor thing.
Right now, Tigger is convinced that we are HORRID beasts who ain’t got the sense we wuz born with! 😛
My daughter thinks the same of us. 🙂
Change is hard. Your daughter may thank you for downsizing down the road. Hang in there, NT.
I have a room that I want to freshen up with a coat of emulsion, I am lazy and do the ceiling and walls in the same colour, I could do with you BFF here for a few days, if not I’ll have to resort to my telescopic roller
Hope ‘normal’ is resumed quickly so Tigger can relax.
My sister wants BFF to head over and paint her house too ~ good painters are in high demand. Especially tall painters for high places. Good luck with the telescopic roller.
Tigger seems to be adjusting to the mayhem, but we’ll all be glad when things are back in order.
It’s all worth the effort in the end. A fresh coat of paint makes everything look new! 😀 Poor Tigger will feel a bit displaced for a while, but won’t remember a thing after a few months (animals are good like that) 😉
Tigger is doing a bit better today. His initial concern was along the lines of . . . WHAT? YOU’RE MOVING AGAIN!? THAT’S JUST CRAZY TALK!
I’m excited to see the sparkling white walls framed by the Bayside (greenish/blue) accents.
Cats do like their routines! Painting with them in the house is not an easy task, that’s for sure.
Yesterday, Tigger just missed brushing up against just painted molding about 16x ~ it’s exciting, exhilarating, and exhausting.
Somehow I missed this post so I’ll blame it on my new computer. Or maybe after the pond project I wasn’t diligent. Yikes! This is chaos. (I hate indoor projects!)
Moving was easier ~ we made steady progress unpacking boxes, situating furniture, hanging pictures. This is slow going ~ a back and forth shuffling of stuff to paint the wall, then the baseboards, then the moldings. I will be glad to see the last of the drop cloths.
I am a lot like Tigger!
You and me both! It’s like living in the midst of a construction zone. I want my ZEN back. 😎
Our dog, Zena, doesn’t handle change either! We’ve had a big plumbing project over the weekend and I don’t think the dog sat down once Saturday or Sunday! But she didn’t give us the skink eye! LOL! I hope the painting has resulted in a nice fresh home. I love newly painted rooms!
We are 3/4 of the way home . . . and it is looking brighter and lighter along the completed wall. A few days more and “this too shall pass.” So far, Tigger hasn’t stepped in or brushed against any wet paint. Yay!
Hope your plumbing project was a success.
