Oh, When The Cows Come Marching In July 20, 2014

An impromptu Jazz concert on a Jersey hillside for a bunch of Jerseys.
No cows were harmed in the filming of this video.
Aah . . . that’s better!

Loved it Nancy! Shared on Facebook :-).
Thanks, Rainee. I got a kick out of seeing this. Animals are so awesome . . . and make a great audience for budding musicians.
They loved it!
Yes! It seemed like genuine interest, not just idle curiosity or “channel surfing” (because nothing else was on).
Contestants who don’t survive the cuts on American Idol could get some Face Time in the hills.

You might like to take a look at the link above about a little town not far from where we live. Cows are a big feature there 🙂
Thanks, Rainee. Those cows are wonderful ~ they might not come marching in when . . . the hills are alive with the sound of music.
Cute! I saw that somewhere before, or at least something very like it. Thanks for the reminder.
You tube videos are like satellites ~> endlessly circling through cyber-space.
Funny….Jersey cows are nicer than….black Angus cows. Alberta, the province where I live, is Canada’s biggest beef producer. So dairy cows are somewhere else in Canada.
And hope they ALL get some fresh air and pasture time . . . instead of being stuck in crowded barns or feed lots.
Such a curious bunch. I love this, Nancy!
I kept waiting for one of them to wave the “Eat M’or Chik’n” sign.
Reminds me of a guy down the road who decided to learn how to play bagpipes. His spouse banished him to the outdoors after dinner where, every night for months, he serenaded the neighborhood. He finally ceased playing. We believe the coyote had a say in the matter.
Haha! I love a wee bit of the highland pipes . . . but every night might be a bit much. There’s a guy here on the island who plays at sunset most nights. Some people love it. Others (like the coyote) howled in protest.
That’s too cute! They make a better audience than most people 🙂
The biggest downside is they can’t applaud . . . or throw money.
Looks like the cows liked their concert. So funny to see them walking over to get a look at the musicians and hear the music better.
Curious connoisseurs of chamber music. Moo!
Aww don’t you just love their faces and their curiosity? I am sure they loved it. I think most cows in large herds get a bit bored. Not much to do. A couple years ago when I was still clicking barns I hopped out of the car to click a small group of cows and I swear they acted like they had never seen a human. They gave me the stink eye and stared me down. We used to play music in the barn all the time for the horses, I am pretty sure they enjoyed it.. no jazz though.. 😀
No jazz? What about Show Tunes? I’m guessing that cows and horses have a diversity of musical interests . . . which don’t encompass Heavy Metal because “that’s not music!” 😎
That’s so cute! What was the old ad about contented cows? Maybe they get bored out there in the field just eating grass.
There’s a “Happy Cows come from California” ad (propaganda from the California Dairy Industry) ~> say C~H~E~E~S~E!
Humans have all manner of distraction to escape the sameness of “been there, done that.” We vary our diet, our clothes, our entertainment, our careers. The least we can do for cows is give them some music as they wander.
Gotta love that character! Of course, it seems you lost a rare opportunity by not encouraging him to use a knife and fork as the next step up in feeding.
I’m not sure how your comment ended here, instead of on Tigger’s post . . . but the image of Tigger using a knife and fork is wonderful!
Yes, I’m not sure either, because this is the first time I have seen this amazing group of jazz fans getting in the mooooood!
Thought this might appeal to the moo-sician in you!
Love this Nancy! Cows are so curious … and I didn’t low they liked jazz so much 🙂
a-moosing comments too!
Animals have personalities ~ even though cats are known to be curious . . . I can’t see a napping cat coming over to investigate a bunch of jazz musicians.
Yapping dogs, maybe. Napping cats, not likely. 😀
I can’t see a group of cats lazing about either 😉
Cats just don’t have that herd mentality.
