Have You Lost Your Mind? June 22, 2014

“They tell me that you’ll lose your mind when you grow older.

“What they don’t say is that you won’t miss it very much.”

~ Malcolm Cowley (1898-1989)

Aah . . . that’s better!

This reminded me of a moment of exasperation, years ago, when I exclaimed “I am losing my mind” and a friend quietly responded “well, it wouldn’t be a big loss”. lol

Bwahaha! Sometimes the best things our friends can do for us is put things in perspective.

“There, there, Eeyore. It wasn’t much of a tail anyway.” 😎

Read the headline and thought you had found it…damn.

I’ll keep my eyes open for you, Kathy ~> where were you when you last had your wits about you?

Sometime before the move? Maybe you left it on the beach? 😎

Ha! Enjoy your Sunday Nancy!!!

Thanks, Pix! You do the same.

The nice thing about losing one’s mind ~ every day is a brand new start.

Mind? Did I have a Mind?

nrhatch - June 22, 2014

I’m sure I left it around here somewhere.

Sometimes my mind turns up in the strangest places…like the glasses on the top of my head.

One of my favorite Bill Cosby routines is when he’s asking his teen-aged son about his day.

“Do you have any homework?”

“I dunno.”

“How’d you do in the game today?”

“I dunno.”

Frustrated, Cosby says, “Well, let me ask you this . . . was your head with you all day?” 😎

I dunno πŸ˜‰

We learn from children ~> e.g., how much patience we have.

Mmmm…I’m starting to miss mine a little, or am missing a little of mine.

nrhatch - June 22, 2014

If you NOTICE it’s gone, you’re probably still “with it.” When I handled incompetency hearings, the folks who were “far gone” had no idea that they’d gone around the bend.

I’m not sure anyone who knows me would really notice if I completely lost my mind…

nrhatch - June 23, 2014

Yes! When we’re “unique” and “one of a kind,” there’s no frame of reference. We can be as bizarre as we please. 😎

There are parts of my mind I’d just love to lose, Nancy! πŸ˜‰

nrhatch - June 23, 2014

Selective Amnesia!

diannegray - June 24, 2014

LOL! That’s it! πŸ˜‰

Funny πŸ˜‰

Here’s to jettisoning the detritus and keeping the essential.
