A few weeks ago, we attended the preview of a WEDU (PBS) Special on the Historic Green Village.
The Village, located on Pine Avenue on Anna Maria Island, boasts Platinum LEED Certification and Net Zero Energy Usage.
They obtained that stellar status with solar panels, LED lighting, geothermal water cooled air/heat, bladders under the parking lot to collect rainwater for flushing toilets and watering the landscaping, etc.
Before airing the documentary, the Relish Cafe served guests a buffet of good eats and green treats.
Including sweetened and unsweetened tea and spiked and unspiked Arnold Palmers.
I did smile at the irony of using plastic cups to serve one of the nibbles.
This presentation was a bit greener . . . and just as red.
Aah . . . that’s better!
