A short time ago, when I posted a post about Plein Air Painting, several readers requested that I share my paintings.
Since scanning hadn’t worked well, Tok suggested I photograph them.
Here’s one painted in 1998, ten years before we moved to FL. If you look past the glare off the glass, it’s how I dreamed my life could be and would be:
Listen to the mustn’ts child. Listen to the don’ts.
Listen to the shouldn’t haves, the impossibles, the won’ts.
Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me.
Anything can happen child. Anything can be.

Thanks, Pix. My dreamscape acted as a visual reminder for me for a decade ~ but I’m sure you can appreciate why the Loyal Order of the Moose chose The-Artist-Currently-Known-As-Cheetah to paint the building murals in the previous post.

It’s your good fortune that there are so many art movements and styles. However your zebra turns out, you can always say, “Well, of course it looks that that. It’s _____________ .”

Actually, I do have one painting of “Zebra Hippos” (really fat zebras) that are a bit Seussian.

Thanks for the suggestion, Tok. I expect the paintings would photograph better if I took them out of their frames. But that would be more trouble than it’s worth. 😉

I painted lots of beach scenes but this one was “me” sitting where I wanted to be.
We just got back from a 3 mile walk on the beach. Great breeze.
Movies, books, sex and Chablis. So that’s what it’s about . 🙂 Nice to see you visioning. It clearly helps to manifest outcomes.
Yup! When we know what we want, it’s easier to get to where we’re going. Especially if we’re willing to take a few detours to really enjoy the journey from HERE to THERE.

For taking pictures of pictures under glass, I have found that side lighting with no flash and facing a dark area seems to give the best results.
Thanks, Col! I’m going to play around a bit . . . flash is definitely a “deal breaker” for shooting “under glass.”

I love your painting, Nancy! I am absolutely joyous to see that you painted this wonderful scene 10 years before you actually moved to precisely to your personal tropical paradise! You knew all along what you dreamed about, and you brought it into your lives. What an encouragement that is to me, too! So many things we dream about just take time, and a little investment in the dream itself. 🙂

Thanks, Marie. The biggest difference is that I almost never SIT on the beach ~ yesterday we did a 3 mile walk on the beach, the visit before we floated o’er the waves, but we rarely just plop our butts down neath the palms. (Though I expect that day will arrive).
