Shortly before I stopped practicing law, I began to suffer from intense abdominal pain of unknown etiology.

I underwent tests, saw specialists, changed my diet, but the pain continued.

Unabated. And undiagnosed.

When I stopped practicing law, the pain stopped.  It vanished without a trace.

Being able to sleep through the night, after months of tossing and turning in agonizing pain, was an unexpected bonus for finding the courage to follow the still silent voice as it whispered:

“You are not doing what you came here to do.”

A few months into my “sabbatical,” my primary doctor inquired about the pain. I glanced at my now-quiet belly and replied, “It’s gone.”

Still looking at my chart, not at me, he asked, “Did you quit your job?”

Woodstock-&-Snoopy3It was the first thing he thought of.

Of course it was.

Any dis-ease we feel in our mind is apt to manifest itself as disease in our body.

That’s the strength of the mind-body connection.

Aah . . . that’s better!
