How’s this for inspiring?
Britain’s Got Talent: 80-year-old Janey Cutler has a wonderful singing voice, and her friends egged her on to enter the competition.
As she says in the clip . . . Better Late Than Never. Β Here’s to “No Regrets.”
She is amazing – what a powerful voice and message! Thanks for sharing it π
Glad you enjoyed her performance. I love her brogue. π
Wonderful!
Her choice of song was perfect for a debut performance at age 80.
Wow! I only wish my voice was half so powerful!
Yes! She’s got quite a set of pipes on her!
I remember watching Janey, Nancy… thanks for reminding me of her! And it’s so true… it’s NEVER too late!
What a firecracker of a performer she is. Glad you got to see her in “real time,” Tom.
I have seen her previously, and every time I smile and my eyes leak. LOVE IT!
I loved watching Simon’s skepticism transform into a full blown endorsement of her “hidden” talent!
I remember this, Nancy. So inspiring to claim your dream, no matter how old you are…
She and Grandma Moses could both teach us a thing or too about late blooming roses!
Awesome. She’ll be singing anthems at sporting events very soon, I predict.
That reminds me a little bit of when I saw Cissy Houston (Whitney Houston’s mom) perform last year. This frail, tiny old woman had to be helped into the stage and looked like she was going to crumble into dust at any second. The band starts playing, she raises the mic, and then she very nearly blew the roof off the joint. An amazing thing to witness.
That’s an awesome telling of an inspiring tale, Eric.
Exactly what I’ll picture from no on when someone says, “Wait’ll you see this . . . it’s going to blow you away!”
Her performance and the audience’s reaction moved me to tears. What an inspiration this woman is. Thanks for the share!
Glad you enjoyed it . . . I loved watching her AND the audience’s reaction. Such a treat.
Absolutely made my day!
Wonderful! Glad you enjoyed, Tammy. It’s an inspiring clip.
wow that was wonderful! Amazing at her age.
I just love how the look on Simon’s face changes from, “oh, boy” to “OH, BOY!” π
Very moving! Big smiles here.. π
Yay. Glad you enjoyed, Pix.
She was wonderful – and this epitomises what shows like BGT should be all about; discovering the completely unexpected and celebrating those seemingly unlikely performers who make the hairs on your arms stand on end; just magic!
It is exciting when they unearth a gem on these shows ~ young, old, or in between.
Wohoo! Loved her voice and her accent too! So true…it doesn’t matter how old we are ( or young we are)…when we do what we do with love and passion…it’s just awesome!! π
Yes! She reminded me of my great aunt with her lovely Scottish brogue . . . and what courage to step out in front of 3000 folks to blow your pipes like that. Superb.
That clip made me smile π I think it’s awesome that she went out and did that at her age. And I loved her answer to Simon’s question about how long she’s waited to do that. (It was something like, I’m just glad I’m here now.)
Yes! I thought that was a great answer too! I don’t know her back story but get the sense from her answers that she’s performed in local pubs and clubs before. But nothing on so grand a scale. I’m glad she gave it a go.
I didn’t know Janey! I’m so glad to see this clip, Nancy! She brought tears to my eyes. I also just loved that response to Simon and her self-confidence. This was really thrilling to see. π
So glad you enjoyed her performance. I also loved Simon’s reaction BEFORE and AFTER she sang.
WOW! Goose-flesh.
Thank you.
Oh, good. Glad you had a chance to enjoy this performance, Tok.
