* Let us live while we live. ~ Philip Doddridge

Aah . . . that’s better!

Did you notice the face in the clouds?

1. Morgan - July 24, 2013

Great Quotes and an absolutely GORGEOUS picture! 🙂 Nice way for me to start my day!

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Thanks, Morgan. My husband pointed out that face in the clouds and I grabbed the camera.

Here’s to making the most of the moment!

2. shreejacob - July 24, 2013

Lovely quotes and very true! It reminds me of another..the journey of a 1000 steps starts with the first. If we don’t make the choice of moving, of just doing (even if it is just to experience being without actually doing anything) we really can’t say we’ve lived at all!

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Exactly right. The first step is often the hardest . . . once we get started, the way teaches us the way.

3. Crowing Crone Joss - July 24, 2013

perhaps the face in the clouds is the bit of magic that was waiting to be discovered!

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

My thought exactly, Joss. 😀

4. William D'Andrea - July 24, 2013

Enjoy it while you’ve got it!

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Live today . . . for tomorrow we die.

The ones that spoke to me the most were these 🙂

The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are. ~ J. Pierpoint Morgan

The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses.

PS great photos – magical

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Thanks, Lorraine. Glad you enjoyed. I love that Pierpoint Morgan quote.

6. Jodi - July 24, 2013

Awesome pics – I love sunrise and sunset pictures, it’s like a little bit of magic everyday!

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Thanks, Jodi. I agree . . . there is something magical each time the sun crests the horizon in ascent or descent.

7. theonlycin - July 24, 2013

Great post, Nancy. I especially like the Priestly one, thanks 🙂

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

That quote always makes me smile at the seen and unseen possibilities. Here’s to MAGIC!

8. SuziCate - July 24, 2013

Gorgeous shots! Hmmm…sometimes the sky speaks to us in cloud language…wonder what it’s saying. The face between the two lower clouds directly above the trees looks as if it’s about to be pounced on by a witchy dog figure above! Have I got imagination or what?

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Clouds are such FUN to watch as they morph from shape to shape ~ “now you see it . . . now you don’t.” A great reminder that the only constant in life is CHANGE.

9. klrs09 - July 24, 2013

Great quotes. I stole one of them to use. This is so right-in-the-moment for me. I’ve decided to leave my old job and embark on a new direction. A little frightnening at my age — but, as I said when I made the decision — we only live once, and if I don’t do this now I won’t have another chance.

I couldn’t see the face. sigh.

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Awesome news, klrs. Best of luck with the transition. We just watched a show featuring a woman who relocated from California to Paris with her two daughters to fulfill a dream she’d had for 10 years. Last year, while battling Stage 3 Breast Cancer, her husband died. She decided to “go for it!”

To see the face, look at the brightest spot in either photo ~ the mouth is a straight line and above it are two eyes. 🙂

klrs09 - July 24, 2013

Thank you! And — I saw the face!

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Yay! Good luck with your new beginning.

Perfect thing to read after yoga.

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Yoga is a great way to stretch yourself.

11. ericjbaker - July 24, 2013

How many times do we look back and regret not taking action, only to repeat the pattern again???

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

Yup. It’s easy to “get into a rut” and stay there. Mixing things up allows us to enjoy new-to-us experiences, opportunities, and perspectives while growing and flowing.

Even small changes make a big difference.

12. diannegray - July 24, 2013

Lovely quotes, Nancy (I’m glad you grabbed your camera when that face showed up in the clouds!). Well done 😉

nrhatch - July 24, 2013

I take cloud and sunset shots from time to time, but that face peering over the trees really got our attention.

13. Three Well Beings - July 25, 2013

I love the face in the clouds! Yes! I loved each quote, too. My husband reads John Wooden’s books over and over (and over…). He finds a great deal of inspiration from Wooden’s very wise words. But each quote here was special. I wish I could remember quotes better. 🙂

nrhatch - July 25, 2013

I googled Wooden to see who he was . . . he recently died at the age of 99! He had LOTS of days to transform into masterpieces.

I love quotes and pithy sayings. Some remain with me. Others fade away into the either. That’s why I share so many on SLTW ~ if I remember part of the quote or who uttered it, I can find it with the search bar. 😉

14. Pix Under the Oaks - July 25, 2013

Beautiful picture Nancy and yes I noticed that little face in the clouds right away!
* The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are. ~ J. Pierpoint Morgan This quote is working for me!
Good Morning!

nrhatch - July 25, 2013

Excellent. When we are content, with no disgruntled rumblings in the background (“this isn’t working”), we can keep on keeping on. But when we sense our inner voice trying to get our attention (“it’s time for a change”), we should get ready to shake up the status quo. 😀

15. sufilight - July 25, 2013

Lovely, lovely photo and great quotes! We humans need these reminders from time to time.

nrhatch - July 25, 2013

Thanks, Marie. Glad you enjoyed the photos and quotes. That’s why I collect quotes . . . they are mini reminders to focus on the good.

16. jannatwrites - July 26, 2013

That is a pretty photo. Love the life quotes (and your post title!)

nrhatch - July 26, 2013

Thanks, Janna. Every day = a new chance to “get it right.” 😉

17. kateshrewsday - July 26, 2013

Sieze the day, Nancy 🙂

nrhatch - July 26, 2013

I’m trying . . . but it’s a slippery rabbit! 😉

18. bluebee - July 27, 2013

I wake up wondering what’s waiting out there to get me, haha

nrhatch - July 27, 2013

Sometimes when we’re “paranoid,” they really ARE out to get us!

19. Perfecting Motherhood - July 29, 2013

Make each day your masterpiece – that’s a great way to see your life!

nrhatch - July 29, 2013

Every day we get another chance to “get it right.” You did GREAT today. What a “masterpiece moment” for you:
