He has good claws to be uppity!

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

Perfect, Col! πŸ˜€

2. Pix Under the Oaks - April 19, 2013

That little crab is darling! Does he live at your place “up” on your siding?.. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

He does live on our siding . . . where the doorbell used to be. πŸ˜‰

3. Judson - April 19, 2013

I’ve heard of a “Fiddler” on your roof, but never a blue crab on your siding …

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

Now I’ve got “If I were a Rich Man . . . ” from Fiddler on the Roof ringing round my head.

4. Long Life Cats and Dogs - April 19, 2013

That’s one clever crab, climbing up a wall πŸ™‚

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

He’s a constant reminder to look for the UPside. πŸ˜›

5. ericjbaker - April 19, 2013

Trying to make like his distant cousin, the spider, and ambulate vertically?

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

Yes! Our lizards do the same . . . with suction cups for toes. πŸ’‘

6. Andra Watkins - April 19, 2013

Love the eyes.

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

Me too. They bring the crabby creature to life. 😯

7. Don - April 19, 2013

Beautiful piece – love the colours and the eyes.

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

Thanks, Don. We bought this little guy in Maryland, but his tropical colors are perfect for Florida. All he needs is a pair of sunglasses. 😎

8. sustainabilitea - April 19, 2013

I love the bright colors of it!

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

Yes, he’s a pretty cheery bouncer to have at the door. πŸ˜€

9. Grannymar - April 19, 2013

Oh Nancy, what big eyes he has!

nrhatch - April 19, 2013

All the better to SEE you with! 😯

10. sufilight - April 19, 2013

His eyes seem to be saying “Hey, humans take it easy. Lighten up. Relaaax. Life’s a beach.” πŸ˜€

nrhatch - April 20, 2013

That’s IT in a nutshell, Marie. Humans do more and more and buy more and more to impress people we like less and less.

Here’s to kicking it back a notch or two.

11. adeeyoyo - April 20, 2013

Pity they aren’t so cuuute in real life, Nancy.

nrhatch - April 20, 2013

The first folks to eat lobsters and crab were either very brave or very hungry. πŸ˜‰

12. kateshrewsday - April 20, 2013

Ha! Taking himself out of his comfort zone there…

nrhatch - April 20, 2013

Yes! He’s scaling the cliffs . . . to explore new vistas. πŸ˜€

13. Three Well Beings - April 21, 2013

I would love to have this guy in my backyard! He’s great! πŸ™‚

nrhatch - April 21, 2013

Funny thing ~ since we hung him up a few weeks ago, we’ve started seeing crabs in the lagoon. For 4 years, we never saw a single crab ~ we saw turtles, fish, otters, and birds, but NO crabs.

In the past 3 weeks, I’ve seen 1 or 2 dinner-plate-size crabs on 3 separate occasions. Odd.

I am NEVER hanging a snake up. That might tempt fate! 😯

14. Bastet - April 21, 2013

Lovely crab…he looks so happy 😯

nrhatch - April 21, 2013

Yes! Crabs have an undeserved reputation for being “crabby.” πŸ˜›

Bastet - April 21, 2013

Lol! Nice!

15. jannatwrites - April 22, 2013

What a fun piece of art! The colors are ‘happy’ πŸ™‚

nrhatch - April 22, 2013

Thanks. It’s our not-too shabby crabby!
