To Market! To Market! March 18, 2013

As I’ve mentioned, Suzicate has written a book.

Two books, actually.

A few weeks back, Suzi (a/k/a the Water Witch’s Daughter) pressed PUBLISH on her book ~ Stepping Into The Wilderness.

It’s available from Amazon in Paperback or Kindle.

This weekend, she “stepped into the wilderness” of marketing her wares by Pounding the Pavement.

She quieted her fears, quelled her trepidation, loaded a few books into the car, and began making the rounds to scout out possible venues for book signings . . . with great success.

* Grape & Gourmet ~ book signing (and wine tasting!) on April 12th, with a follow up event the next day.

Say yes to life, even though you know it may devour you.  ~ Stephen Larsen

Taking chances helps you grow.  ~ Unknown

* The Royal Chocolate ~ book signing (with FREE hot cocoa to purchasers!) on a date to be arranged.

Everything is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  ~ Kobi Yamada

Do not delay; the golden moments fly! ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

* The Daily Grind ~ a TBA book signing.

Life, we learn too late, is in the living, the tissue of every day and hour. ~ Stephen B. Leacooke

Tomorrow’s life is too late.  Live today.  ~ Marcus Valerius Martialis

Wikipedia ~ José Ortega y Gasset (in Public Domain)

* The Local Library ~ a possible book signing AND a copy of her book donated for circulation.

We cannot put off living until we are ready.  The most salient characteristic of life is its urgency, “here and now” without any possible postponement.  Life is fired at us point-blank. ~ José Ortega y Gasset

Life is a succession of moments.  To live each one is to succeed.  ~ Corita Kent

You go, girl!

Aah . . . that’s better!

Thanks for the fabulous shout out, Nancy! I am indeed “Stepping into the Wilderness” now!

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

You’re welcome, Suzi! Nancy Curteman (Global Mysteries) has held a few successful book signings . . . you might want to check out her blog for ideas (and courage!).

2. spilledinkguy - March 18, 2013

That’s wonderful!!!
I’m pleased with myself if I can manage two paragraphs!
🙂

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

Your posts are great, Bob . . . short, sweet, and FUN.

I enjoy writing but lack the necessary motivation/dedication to compile, publish, and market my words in book format. Who knows? Maybe watching Suzi’s journey will inspire me.

spilledinkguy - March 18, 2013

That would be very, very cool, Nancy!!! I think that’s a wonderful idea! I know you could do it!!!
🙂

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

OK . . . I’ll get cracking on hatching up an idea for an eggs-cellent book while you brush up your marketing skills and find venues for your awesome art and palette-pleasing photography. Deal?

3. cecilia - March 18, 2013

excellent, and thank you for letting us know!! c

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

You’re welcome, C! Hope Spring marches down your farm lane this week.

4. kateshrewsday - March 18, 2013

All the best with the new book, Suzicate!

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

I wish Suzi lived a bit closer . . . so I could attend her First Ever Wine Tasting Book Signing! 😀

suzicate - March 18, 2013

Me, too! Isn’t that just an awesome combo! Did you notice my venues serve food and drink….wine, coffee, and of course CHOCOLATE! Seriously, I didn’t really plan it that way, it was simply the universe working its magic!

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

I would come to all 3. You picked great venues to scout out ~ wine, coffee, and chocolate! You be SMART!

5. Booksphotographsandartwork - March 18, 2013

Wishing Suzi all the best!

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

Thanks for sharing your good wishes, Linda.

6. colonialist - March 18, 2013

Well done her, indeed. This is the part I always find so impossibly hard. It seems so unfair that a writer has to stop writing to become a salesperson.

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

One of the positives is the chance to get “outside our heads” to chat with those who might benefit from the worth of our words.

I know that Suzi’s personality will SHINE at her book signings . . . making people grab up copies of her books. 😀

colonialist - March 18, 2013

*grump, grump* All very well for HER. Mine doesn’t.

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

Bring your granddaughters with you and let them SHINE!

7. Patricia - March 18, 2013

How exciting! I can’t imagine writing a book but I think I could sell one. After all I lived on commission sales for years and quite comfortably.

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

The “selling gene” is a good gene to have . . . since we are, all of us, selling ourselves everyday.

8. suzicate - March 18, 2013

Thanks for all the well wishes! If no one likes my book at my signing, maybe we could send them through the wine tasting one more time and let them reevaluate me…lol, that could go either way, huh?

nrhatch - March 18, 2013

You’re funny . . . and you’ll do great, Suzi. Just tell the wine tasters about your book. Those who need to heed your message will hear you. 😀

Tammy - March 18, 2013

I’m sure you’ll do great but love the strategy of more wine! Congratulations and Nancy, thanks for sharing.

nrhatch - March 19, 2013

More wine? 😀

9. adeeyoyo - March 19, 2013

Congratulations to Suzicate! Well done. Love the quotes, Nancy.

nrhatch - March 19, 2013

Thanks, Denise. These and other quotes remind me that we cannot live well if we embrace all manner of fear.

10. diannegray - March 19, 2013

Well done, Suzicate! And thanks for letting us know, Nancy 😀 I love the quotes…

nrhatch - March 19, 2013

Quotes inspire us to follow our bliss ~ even if we have to step off the cliff’s edge without a safety net.

“Just leap and the net appears!”

11. Grannymar - March 20, 2013

Well done Suzicate!

Nancy, You would make a great agent!

nrhatch - March 20, 2013

Literary Agent . . . or Secret Agent? As 007’s sidekick, I’d drink sidecars ~ “shaken, not sideswiped.”

As a Literary Agent, I could order Tequila Mockingbirds.

Grannymar - March 20, 2013

Nancy, I’ll hold you too it if I ever manage to pen more than 100 wurds! 😉

nrhatch - March 20, 2013

I’ll drink to that!
*clink*

12. jannatwrites - March 26, 2013

That’s awesome, Suzicate! And what a wonderful shout out, Nancy 🙂

nrhatch - March 26, 2013

It’s exciting when friends press the “publish button.” 😀

13. bluebee - March 29, 2013

Congratulations, Suzicate. Good on you, Nancy.

nrhatch - March 29, 2013

She just pressed publish on Book #2 ~ Swimming The River.
