The turtle looks like he’s asking us what we think we’re staring at!

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

That turtle was decidedly uncooperative . . . offering up numerous “bad shots” before he finally capitulated and looked up at me. πŸ˜€

2. Don - February 22, 2013

Nancy, is that Turtle for real – with pink eyes and all. never seen one that colour.

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

He is real, albeit unusual ~ he lives at the Mote Marine Aquarium. 😯

Love your interpretation(s)! I envy you your beach too…..

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

Thanks! We love our beaches. Might head to a drum circle tonight at sunset. 😎

nuvofelt - February 22, 2013

It’s a little chilly here to think about something like that. Now I’m REALLY envious. πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

It took a L~O~N~G time for us to find our way here . . . and now that we’re here I almost never take it for granted. I find myself grinning like an idiot at the weather.

5. Christine Grote - February 22, 2013

Ah yes. The weekly photo challenge. I feel like Rip Van Winkle waking back up to the world. Now where did I leave my camera?

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

That’s how I felt after my blogging hiatus last summer . . . it seemed “surreal” to be back.

Dip your toes in gradually and leave plenty of time for other pursuits and pleasures.

6. kateshrewsday - February 22, 2013

Lovely positive photographs. Facing forward it is, Nancy πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

One insight I had as I “wrote” (and I use that word VERY loosely) this post . . . we are always facing forward, no matter which direction we’re facing.

Unless, of course, we’re intent on looking over our shoulder. πŸ˜‰

7. Suzanne - February 22, 2013

love the turtle πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

I enjoy watching turtles . . . especially sea turtles while swimming.

8. diannegray - February 22, 2013

Great pics – I love that turtle! πŸ˜€

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

I had the hardest time getting him to “pose” for me.

9. colonialist - February 22, 2013

You are being rather forward all of a sudden! The turkley-wurkley looks nicely wacky!

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

I hope you’re talking about the turtle . . . and not my toes! πŸ˜†

10. Connor Rickett - February 22, 2013

What a peculiar turtle.

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

I think it’s albino . . . which is why he never got released back into the wild.

11. Pocket Perspectives - February 22, 2013

good advice…keep moving forward. The further behind I get, the more necessary that sounds.
And Nancy…turtle???… am I looking right at it and not seeing it? I don’t see a turtle.

Pocket Perspectives - February 22, 2013

omg…wooooooo…..the turtle just appeared! It was a narrow band/stripe of color every time I looked for it before…spooky turtle!

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

That is spooky! 😯

I have found that photos are more cooperative in WP when I’m not using Internet Explorer. They seem to like Google Chrome and Firefox better.

12. cecilia - February 22, 2013

Ah the beach again, i love to visit when you are on the beach! have a lovely weekend out there, don’t worry about me i have a gorgeous book to read by the fire.. c

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

Yay! I am glad that you have some time to kick back and relax by the fire. Enjoy the book! πŸ˜€

13. dearrosie - February 22, 2013

I like your interpretation of the theme Nancy, and may I say how nice it is to see the photo of you πŸ˜€

I see that the bench behind you is empty and calling me. I’m on my way …

nrhatch - February 22, 2013

Absolutely! That bench is calling your name. πŸ˜€

14. viviankirkfield - February 23, 2013

Yes, Nancy…sometimes it is difficult to move forward and we need to dig deep for courage or energy or motivation. I love your beach scenes…I can smell the salt in the air.:)

nrhatch - February 23, 2013

Yes. Sometimes we want to retrace our steps, sometimes we run around in circles chasing our tails (or tales), and sometimes we come to what feels like a complete standstill or screeching halt.

We went down to the beach last night for the weekly drum circle at sunset. The kids were so much fun to watch as they enjoyed being part of the celebration.

viviankirkfield - February 24, 2013

Reading your posts keeps everything fresh, Nancy…thank you!

nrhatch - February 24, 2013

Thanks, Vivian! πŸ˜€

15. sweetdaysundertheoaks - February 23, 2013

Those forward feet are tan! Gotta love the turtle.. πŸ˜€ What the hell am I doing up North with 6 inches of snow and sleet on the ground. Remember the days of digging out of the garage? CH did that today!

nrhatch - February 23, 2013

I do remember AND I used to ask myself the same thing, “Why am I HERE when I want to be THERE”?

Moving here was the right decision for us . . . we are happier. 😎

16. adeeyoyo - February 23, 2013

Hahaha, Nancy… turtle? I thought it was a teenager! πŸ˜€

nrhatch - February 23, 2013

I wonder if the turtle is “invisible” to you. Kathy (comment #11) couldn’t see it either.

It does look like the surfing dude turtle in Nemo!

17. Grannymar - February 23, 2013

Great photos. I think I am a forward looking person, it is afterall where the adventures are!

nrhatch - February 23, 2013

That’s good since it’s very difficult to “backtrack” in life ~ no matter how hard we try to recreate an experience, it’s never quite the same. No matter how tight we hang on, change happens.

Best to “go with the flow.”

18. Tammy - February 23, 2013

Onward and upward then!

nrhatch - February 23, 2013

Hmm . . . now where did I leave my jet pack? πŸ˜€

19. Tom (Aquatom1968) - February 23, 2013

Face forwards indeed, Nancy!
I love that turtle! πŸ˜€

nrhatch - February 23, 2013

That turtle is developing a real fan base. πŸ˜€

20. bluebee - February 24, 2013

Forwards, onwards, upwards. Enjoyed your photos – the turtle is comical πŸ™‚

nrhatch - February 24, 2013

Thanks, BB. That turtle has something on his mind . . . πŸ˜‰

21. Tokeloshe - February 24, 2013

Well done!

Beautiful photos as always.
That turtle is amazing.

nrhatch - February 24, 2013

Thanks, Tok. He has quite a number of new fans. πŸ˜€

22. jannatwrites - February 25, 2013

What a relaxing post (beaches and flip flops scream ‘take a load off’). That turtle picture is great!

nrhatch - February 25, 2013

I find these shots relaxing too . . . despite the title of the post. Choo choo!

23. moondustwriter - February 26, 2013

any day on the beach is a look forward into the glorious horizon day

nrhatch - February 26, 2013

Well put. 😎

24. pix & kardz - March 9, 2013

love the turtle – and your weather!

nrhatch - March 9, 2013

Hi Kris! Our weather has been a bit nippy this week . . . it’s rebounding today. Yay! 😎
