Some time ago, Julie Hedlund did a guest post on SLTW about the children’s picture book she hoped to publish:

A Troop is a Group of Monkeys

More recently, I let you know about her upcoming Writer’s Retreat:

Writer’s Retreat . . . in Florence Italy!

And, now, I’m delighted to share her most recent news . . . released yesterday:

You can purchase the iTunes app, A Troop is a Group of Monkeys, HERE.

Aah . . . that’s better!

If you want to swing by Julie’s blog and see what she has to say about this exciting milestone  . . . Julie Hedlund, Gratitude Sunday

Thank you for sharing Nancy! Especially since I’ve been awol in the blogosphere lately, which I feel badly about. I so appreciate all of the support you’ve given me on this journey!

I am SUPER excited for you, Julie. As much as I love reading books printed on paper . . . the opportunities for cyber books is as unlimited as our imaginations.

Write on!

Absolutey darling! I am going to have a great-niece/nephew? soon that we could give that to! Gotta love that little stinker at the end.. 🙂

That skunk IS a stinker! Glad that iTunes don’t feature Smell-O-Vision! 😯

Enjoy the arrival of your great niece/nephew! My great aunt Edie was one of my most favorite people EVER.

Yeah, I’m waiting for them to get scratch and sniff for the iPad – LOL

nrhatch - February 18, 2013

Scratch and Sniff would be GREAT . . . for Cookie Cookbooks!

4. Three Well Beings - February 18, 2013

I will definitely be purchasing this app! How great. My granddaughters will love it. We’ll spread the word! 🙂

nrhatch - February 18, 2013

Yay! I expect they will enjoy learning about a float of crocodiles or a parliament of owls. 😀

5. Julie Hedlund - February 18, 2013

Thanks to Three Well Beings! I appreciate your support of the book and hope your granddaughters do indeed love it!

Julie did a phenomenal job! It is entertaining, engaging AND educational…kids and parents will love it! Makes me miss not having an iPad or iPhone even more…need to get on the stick and see if I can fix that.:)

I’m “behind the times” as well, Vivian.

I am technologically impaired or illiterate or living in the dark ages (depending on who you ask). But I like separating my cyber time from the rest of my life. NOT having portable devices allows me to do that with extreme ease.

But for those with iPhones and wee ones . . . this iTune app is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

So true!

It looks a lovely book and app!

nrhatch - February 18, 2013

Probably a bit young for Felix and Maddie . . . but Maddie might be interested in the Parliament of Owls pic. 😀

Thanks Vivian and Kate!

It really is lovely. The animations are great, but I think it must be lovely to have the straight book version with those great illustrations.

This post made me think of my childhood. I had a kids’ book on different monkey species, and me and my grandfather would flip through, looking for the ugliest ones and claiming they were pictures of each other.

nrhatch - February 19, 2013

Your grandfather and my little brother! 😀

A pandemonium of parrots, a parliament of owls – I never knew! The first is apt, the second is an insult to owls 🙂 Thanks for teaching me something this morning.
*dreaming of attending Julie’s writers’ workshop* as I head off to work…

nrhatch - February 19, 2013

It really is an insult to owls! Perhaps Julie’s next writer’s workshop will be within striking distance for you. 😀
