You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.  ~ Buddha

Do not wish to be anything but what you are, and try to be that perfectly. ~ St. Francis de Sales

Allow peace to surface.  Circulate happiness, curiosity, creativity.  Share what you’ve learned.  Live on the razor’s edge of the now ~ awake, aware, alert, present.  Reclaim your passion.  Savor the silence.  Let go of stale thinking.  Choose your response.

Be here now.

Aah . . . that’s better!

2. aawwa - January 4, 2013

Thanks – I needed that…

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

Me too!

3. theonlycin - January 4, 2013

Aaah … yes, thanks!

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

I am happier drifting with the current . . . rather than flailing against it.

4. cecilia - January 4, 2013

that is better.. c

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

Dragged into the past, we mourn and regret. Focused on the future, we fret and worry. Here, now . . . we enjoy the dance.

cecilia - January 4, 2013

very true..

5. seeker - January 4, 2013

Do I want to imitate Lady Gaga? Not in a million years. I love meself, I love meself, I love… a mantra for daily living. Peace out.

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

I would never trade all of MY experiences to step into someone else’s shoes.

6. Tori Nelson - January 4, 2013

Wonderful. That Buddha was full of the wisdoms 🙂

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

A boatload full of them! 😎

7. suzicate - January 4, 2013

Ah yes! Love thyself and loving others follows!

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

The one tends to follow the other . . . in an upward spiral.

8. jeanne - January 4, 2013

Great advice…I couldn’t agree with you more!

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

It is easy to lose touch with the NOW . . . and allow our happiness to slip away with it. Bringing our attention back to the flow of our breath reconnects us to the flow of life.

Aah . . . the present of being present in the present.

9. Don - January 4, 2013

“Let go of stale thinking.” O’ let this resound through our world. I’ll drink a glass of wine to this tonight, Nancy.

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

Cheers! *clink*

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

Yes! We see the world BEHIND our eyes . . . and reflect it back.

11. sweetdaysundertheoaks - January 4, 2013

Yes!!!

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

😀

[…] You, Yourself… […]

13. klrs09 - January 4, 2013

I think I’m going to copy this — with your permission of course — and repeat these words to myself everyday!

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

Help yourself! _/!\_

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

By that, I mean “permission granted.” 😉

klrs09 - January 7, 2013

I have just copied — thank you!

14. eof737 - January 4, 2013

Here we go again… great minds I wrote a post with similar title for yesterday’s post… 🙂
Have a great weekend!

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

That’s excellent, E . . . I got the title from the Buddha quote which I jotted down many moons ago. It’s so interesting when similar thoughts bubble up at the same time in different places.

15. kateshrewsday - January 4, 2013

I just love that Frances De Sales quote, Nancy. For what else could we be?

nrhatch - January 4, 2013

Isn’t that a song . . . “I gotta be me . . . I gotta be me . . . what else could I be but what I am?” 😀

kateshrewsday - January 4, 2013

I shall YouTube it immediately to find out.

nrhatch - January 5, 2013

My mom used to sing it . . . but I don’t believe she posted a video on youtube.

16. ryoko861 - January 4, 2013

Very nice!

nrhatch - January 5, 2013

Thanks, Irene. Be good to yourself. And to others. 😀

17. Pocket Perspectives - January 4, 2013

So special…thank you….

nrhatch - January 5, 2013

Thanks, Kathy.

Because my computer is AWOL, my time on line will be limited for the forseeable future. I’ll try to find something productive to do to fill the unused Cyber Space. 😀

18. Andra Watkins - January 4, 2013

A most excellent reminder for the new year, or for any day of the year, Nancy.

nrhatch - January 5, 2013

Letting go of stale thoughts really does pave the way to see the world anew. Even if it’s a shocking view . . . 😯

19. jannatwrites - January 4, 2013

Great advice/reminder. How we think and react to our world can determine whether or not we experience peace. I’ll take peace, please 🙂

nrhatch - January 5, 2013

The Universe is testing me at the moment . . . but, overall, peace prevails despite the challenges. _/!\_

20. Patricia - January 5, 2013

My blog post today is about this very thing. Got the idea from The Daily Prompt. Anyway, trying to be something or someone we are not is…painful. Love the quotes.

nrhatch - January 5, 2013

I’m borrowing a computer at the moment . . . when mine gets back from its detoxification, I’ll swing by to see what you’ve posted.

21. sufilight - January 5, 2013

Beautiful! These are good reminders as I start my New Year.

nrhatch - January 5, 2013

I am focusing on doing these things myself . . . it’s so easy to be inundated by the mundane and lose sight of the gorgeous vistas that wait for us around each corner.

22. Tammy - January 5, 2013

Good for everyone Nancy! Thanks – great post.

nrhatch - January 5, 2013

Thanks, Tammy. Here’s to happiness, creativity, and curiosity.

23. cuhome - January 5, 2013

Oh yes, thanks! Every morning I have to stop and reel myself back into the moment, and remind myself that that is where I belong! 🙂

nrhatch - January 6, 2013

Lately, the past has been singing her siren song, pulling me down memory lane. Wrapped in nostalgia, the “good old days” seem better, easier, simpler, brighter.

But we cannot reclaim a single droplet once it has washed over the dam and merged with the sea.

24. Perfecting Motherhood - January 6, 2013

Circulate happiness, curiosity, creativity… I like that. So many people go stale and stagnant. This is a good reminder not to fall in that trap.

nrhatch - January 6, 2013

The more curious we are to see what’s around the bend . . . the happier we are with the inherent uncertainty of life.

25. bluebee - January 6, 2013

My niece and I are away together, savouring the silence 🙂

nrhatch - January 6, 2013

How divine! _/!\_

26. wisejourney - January 6, 2013

ahh..much better indeed when the fog of a headache clears ! 🙂

nrhatch - January 6, 2013

Headaches hinder clarity, for sure. Glad it’s gone.
