Eat, Drink, and Be Hairy! December 11, 2012

Tigger is still with us. After months of losing weight at a steady clip, he has now gained a bit back . . . and weighs MORE than he did at the beginning of October. Yay! We hope that trend continues. Fingers (and paws) crossed.
While we wish for a Christmas Miracle, he enjoys climbing into boxes . . .
And totes . . .
Climbing atop antique trunks . . .
And bouncing off again . . .
Curling up for a cat nap on the sofa . . .
Or under the covers . . .
He’s still a Tidy Cat (except, on rare occasions, when he isn’t) . . .
Although he is a bit of a La~Z~Boy these days . . .
He did help me decorate for the holidays . . .
As you can see, he’s an excellent, um, supervisor . . .
He enjoys playing the part of Gulliver landing in Lilliput at Yule Tide . . .
Two weeks from now, he’ll hang up his stocking for Sandy Claws to fill . . .
In the meantime, Tigger sends Warm Furry Wishes and Season’s Greetings to each of you . . . Eat, Drink, and Be Hairy!
Aah . . . that’s better!

Sounds like my Tigger! Has to lay on EVERYTHING you do. For attention of course. Because he sooooo neglected! Poor soul. yeah, right….
We are catering to his whims these days . . . because his future seemed so uncertain. Now that he is rebounding a bit, I’m wondering if it is was all part of his coup to become KING. 😉
It’s so good to hear that Tigger has put on some weight after all he went through, and it seems he is still keeping you on your toes! I loved seeing him in all the pics.
Season’s Greetings and peace and joy to Tigger and the rest of the family.
Thanks, Barb. We’re coming up on 8 months since his diagnosis with feline diabetes. He has lost 7 pounds (down from 17) and may *fingers crossed* be stabilizing there. Time will tell.
Thanks for the good wishes.
Caption one: Why is the food lady pointing that rectangle thing with the shiny circle in the middle at me?
two: She’s still doing it. I’ll just sit here and look off to the side, pretending I don’t notice.
three: She’s stiiiiill doing it.
four: I’ve had enough of this sh**
five: What do you know, Big Brother is still watching. Well, I’m just going to sit here and pretend I don’t even….
six: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Loved your captions. Tigger always cooperates with the photographer . . . unless he’s not in the mood.
My Jake is coming up on 5 years of feline diabetes. Took almost a whole year to stabilize but he ended up on Lantus, a human insulin instead of a cat one (go figure). He hasn’t had a urinary infection or any kidney issues, both common with diabetic cats. He continues to age though and has had abscesses. I follow your theory though. He gets whatever he wants and he does know milk it. Here’s wishing the best for your kitty!
Glad your Kitty is doing well, Kate. These days, Tigger really does “rule the roost.” And we don’t mind. 😀
Wonderful, wonderful news!…. but of course, spirit does light the way…and his curious, inquisitive and playful spirit and yours (and BFF’s) seem to heal and inspire him along! WONDERFUL news!
When I weighed him and saw that he had GAINED weight . . . my smile lit up the villa! Like this . . .
He seems like a very helpful chap, Nancy!
He’d love to help you set up for your 12/21 party . . . but he doesn’t care for cyber flying. 😉
Cough, cough, cough, thanks for the hair ball, Tigger. Miracles do exist, even for cats. I’m sure Santa Claws will grant Tiger’s wish to stay with you. Beautiful cat by the way.
Thanks, Seeker. We’ve got our fingers crossed that Sandy Claws will bring our handsome lad good health for the New Year.
Hope you get rid of that hair ball . . . they’re nasty.
Yaay – so happy your furry friend is back to being a healthy feline – he’s beautiful
Thanks, BB . . . we’re cautiously optimistic that he’s planning to stick around a bit longer. 😀
Here I come from way out in left field again…
…It freaks me out when cats do that thing where they put their ears sideways.
Cat: “Move your hand away. Pronto.”
Now i’m going to be studying Tigger’s ears . . . to see which way the wind is blowing. 😉
That’s very good to hear!
Happy Holidays Tigger 😉
Thanks, Tok. I’ll pass along your greetings to our furry fellow.
Tigger looks great. I especially like the picture of him under the covers…he has a smile on his face…must be sweet dreams.
He does look like he’s having sweet dreams . . . he might be chasing lizards. Or squirrels.
I’m glad he seems to be doing better. He certainly looks happy. (Cats really know how to relax!) Here’s hoping for a pawsitively wonderful Christmas and a hairy, er, I mean happy new year!
Thanks, Janna. Tigger, like many cats, has 2 settings:
(1) Satisfied with the State of their Affairs . . . purr, purr, purr
(2) Dissastisfied and loudly protesting . . . M~E~O~W~Y~E~O~W
Tigger is generally in the first group, except when he wants our attention, assistance, applause, or acknowledgment. 😉
Lovely – best wishes for the festive season to Tigger. And to everyone else of course 🙂
Thanks, Martin. The Yule never quite sneaks up on us, for we see it marching toward us. Still it catches us unawares . . . before we’re quite ready.
Tigger has a beautiful shiny coat! Tigger looks like our Holly Cat, CH gave her to me the Christmas before we were married. Lets hope Tigger stays at 10 pounds or gains a bit more. Season’s Greeting back to you Tigger!
I wondered why your kittie was called “Holly Cat” . . . now I know. 😀
Thanks for the good wishes. For some cats, 10 pounds would be sufficient heft . . . “just right.” For Tigger, it’s a bit too light. We are hoping to put a bit more meat on his bones.
Huzzah! Excellent news, Nancy. And lovely to see Tigger in such high spirits in these lovely photos!
Thanks, Kate. A package arrived from Amazon today, giving him the chance to play his favorite game . . . Hop On Box. 😀
Excellent news? Did you change his diet to make the changes happen? It’s funny you wrote this post because I was actually wondering earlier this week whatever happened to your Tigger (my kids were watching Pooh).
We did change his diet . . . but he made us change it back. He’s bossy. 😉
We would rather have him happy for a short time than healthy but unhappy for many years. And, maybe, he’ll be happy and healthy. We’ll see.
Winnie-the-Pooh always makes me think of Tigger too!
Happy to hear that Tigger is on the up-swing!
~ Happy Winter Holidays of your choice, Nancy!
Thanks, Karen. We’re glad the little guy is hanging in there with us. He’s a charmer. Happy Holidays to you too.
So good to see Tigger well and happy and still here! What a beauty.
Thanks, Linda. We agree . . . he’s a handsome lad.
I didn’t know what ailed Tigger but he looks very healthy in your beautiful photos.
The weight he’s lost is most noticeable when I pick him up. He went from Heavyweight to Middleweight to Welterweight. 😉
