I wish . . . I knew what makes people tick.

That ticks me off!

I wish . . . life was less challenging.

Ho hum.
Been there, done that.

I wish . . . I were a million miles away.

Trifecta Weekend Challenge:

The Monkey’s Paw, a short story by W.W. Jacobs, is about the strings that come with granted wishes. We are asking you to write 33 words exactly about three wishes that come at a high price to the wisher.

Care to play along?

Riverwalk Grand Opening October 19, 2012

Yesterday afternoon we joined thousands to explore our brand new Riverwalk.

Located on the banks of the Manatee River, the park meanders for 1.5 miles.

It’s a real feather in Bradenton’s already over-flowing cap.

A place to walk, stroll, bike, listen to music, and enjoy the breeze.

With a colorful Seussian Playground and Splash Zone for kids.

How FUN!

How refreshing!

With lots of shady seating for adults who want to soak up the river view.

There’s an eco-friendly amphitheater for musical performances and plays.

And a pavillion, fishing pier, sculptural art, and canoe and kayak launch.

There’s a skate park for skateboarders & bikers and a day dock for boaters.

We boarded a boat at the dock to enjoy a sunset cruise on the Manatee.

Accompanied by a glass of wine and an ornamental sea horse or two.

We crossed under the Tropicana Train Bridge (used to transport oranges).

And glided past the Riverwalk to admire the evening’s cumulus offerings.

Rolling down the river, peace descended . . .

Aah . . . that’s better!
