Thoughts on Shameless Self-Promotion October 7, 2012

The key to successful Self~Promotion is NOT to promote your “Self.”

Instead, focus on how the buyer, customer, client, reader will BENEFIT from reading your book, attending your seminar, or stopping by your blog.

What’s in IT for them?

When you market that BENEFIT, you are not engaged in self-promotion . . . you are performing a generous and selfless act of service by bringing valuable information to their attention in a noisy and crowded marketplace.

Of course, if you can’t perceive a benefit to THEM, maybe you shouldn’t be selling IT at all.  ;)

Aah . . . that’s better!

The South Florida Museum hosted a family friendly event on Friday night that was “Out of this World.”

Center Stage:  Fe~Ni, a 138-pound fragment of the 4.5 billion-year-old Campo del Cielo meteorite which plummeted to earth around 2,500 B.C., raining down on an area now called Campo del Cielo (“the Field of Heaven”) in northern Argentina . . .

Sharing the spotlight:  Snooty, the Museum’s mascot, a 64-year-old manatee  who weighs considerably more than 138-pounds . . .

Supporting Acts:  an extensive  collection of Election Memorabilia ~ Vote for Me!  Vote for Me! ~ The Marketing of Presidential Campaigns and Clyde Butcher photography exhibit, Preserving Eden, with larger than life dramatic scenes from Florida . . .

Final Curtain:  a walk on the waterfront to admire the moonlit marina . . .

Aah . . . that’s better!
